busycoupe Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Beautiful! It looks almost identical to my '48 D24 dash, except in the D24 the speedo and clock are round. Dave Quote

P-12 Tommy Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Looks really good Jon! Wish my '41 had a factory dash light. Tom Quote
Reg Evans Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Looks real nice Jon. Got a spare speedo? Mine looks like crap. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Jon, Is this a new car of yours? Sure is nice! Quote

Robert Horne Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 The dash on my 48 does not look good. It must have been painted with red paint from the $ Store. The window trim also. When I have the car painted, the dash and window trim will be painted with the same paint. Would like to have it close to the original, plum/burgandy color. Quote
Gary Manes Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Someone has been doing something right. That looks GREAT!!!! I fear I do not have the patience to do that to my Desoto which has that very light what I call "fakey" looking wood grain. I remember our '49 Dodge from High School. I was constantly amazed that it was not real wood, and I am perfectly serious. Was one of the best "imitation" woods I have ever seen. I saw that video where you dip your parts in the liquid and let the graining material settle on the dash, and/or sections of the dash. If there were someone around here who had that "kit" I'd jump on it with both feet. It never has made any sense to me why the low-end cars had the beautiful wood graining, and my Chrysler New Yorker has paint. Quote
