My industrial engine has a P stamped on it but it came from Jasper so I guess It could have come from anything or the head may have been on something else at one time. Before I found this website, I thought the P stood for propane. Being that I had never seen one before and they were all in Yale forklifts that run on propane.

as the power wagons were dodge, odds of a "P" marked head is going to be slim to none...heavily on the none...

I bought one of the heads sold by Vintage Power Wagons and it has DT on it . Perhaps the letters stand for dodge truck .

Mike, I told you have one, please submit a bid and its yours. I must say, it a very rare piece and extremely valuable. so if you are interested please let me know, or its going down the road to a private collector

Mikey, never heard back from you about the number matching head I had. Another collector in the area had been asking me relentlessly, so I gave in and let it go to a new home. Good luck on your search

So.... forgive me for asking... what specific features do you require this head to have? Does it have to have a "P"? Any specific casting number? Internal or external bypass? Just what exactly are you looking for so I know if I have this "rare" numbers matching head you need? I know I have at least on "P" head on a Plymouth motor in a parts truck that I have and a I would be more than willing to go pull it for the right price, but I need to know what your looking for in this "correct" head.

I didn't know there was a factory alum head offered for the 23" engine. Was this an option or aftermarket piece?

The factory head he is talking about is for the big block engines - not sure if they ever had one for the small block engines.

It said "This head measures 23". unless I'm misreading it.

The ebay auction is for an aftermarket Edgy 23" head - post number 3 is for a factory 25" head.

Mike, Are you sure an external bypass head with a "P" on it was ever made for the P15? I have two heads here with the "P" on them but they both are for the internal bypass engines of the early 50's.

If you don't know what is correct, how do you kow what you had was wrong?

And that was my point...... there are so many variations to the heads that I have seen - and that is only a handful compared to many on this board that as long as it matches the block length, and the coolant system (internal versus external) it is the correct head - you could make the argument that you don't want one with a "D" cast into the top - but that is where it ends.

Mike, I never heard back from you, so I sold it to a local collector. Hope you can find one.

you asked me for $2800.00 did you expect a answer, some guys paid less for their entire car? And the search continues
