Niel Hoback Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 1940 Plymouth sedan delivery on Craigslist. http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwi/cto/1514230666.html All mopar. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Not a bad looking sedan delivery. But........for that kind of money, they could have installed the drivers seat straight. Take a look at that, it's sitting crooked. Wonder what else is improperly installed on that truck? Quote
RobertKB Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Nothing looks nice under the hood. Looks like they grabbed the first dirty 318 they could find and shoved it in. Looks OK on the outside but the seat and dirty engine bay do make you wonder about the quality of the build. Could be another example of a rod gone bad. I love those sedan deliveries and if I had one, I would leave it bone stock. Surprise, surprise. Quote
Young Ed Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 I'm going to hope that the dirty engine is because they've actually driven it 10k miles instead of a few 100 and then put it up for sale like you see so often with rods. I do agree the crooked seat would make me want to inspect everything very carefully. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 it is so hard to make a call on this car based on four pictures..however all comments have been valid...I am very pleased to see that the engine choice is Mopar...that will go further in my book than about any amount of billet and brand x.. Don Coatney Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Perhaps the owner/builder/driver had a long right leg or a short left leg. Or a right eye with near vision and a left eye with long vision. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 see..this forum is in need of Don and his abstract/forward thinking...I just thought they were stuck in there right quick solely for photographic concerns. Of course I have a bit of inside track information...Don just drove in from out of town and stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.. Quote

randroid Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Folks, You might want to take another look at the driver's seat. I have captain's chairs in my '84 van and when swiveled slightly give the same appearance. Besides, if you have ever installed after-market seats in a van you know they're almost difficult to install crooked. (If any of you have ever installed a seat off-kilter, please don't admit it. I'll send you a PM and explain why not.) -Randy Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 I have custom captain chairs in the B250 van..the pedestial on these allow perfect alignment of course making two equal marks from the A-post and pulling a chalk line could be beyond the abilties of some who may be in the spirit as suggested by Norm..Yes they will swivel but also lock at 90 degees...I still think they were placed just for the photo.. Quote
randroid Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Tim, Easily could have been, but truth is I didn't think of it because the driver would need to sit on something. Supposedly a prospective owner might want to take a peek before money changes hands. -Randy Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 true Randy...buying a car that is supposedly finished would require a "personal inspection" if the buyer is anything close to prudent... Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 I wouldn't buy any car sight unseen, or that I have not driven. That would include a brand new car. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 I have bought so many cars sight unseen and not take deliverly till many months later....but these were not bought as drivers but as project cars dn the price and condition of each have well been worth every penny and to have waited for any chance to make time to run and see if possible at all at the time would have been a missed window of opportunity...BUT...for the driver..heck yeah and I put them through the paces..I have been called upon by many at work to do the infamous test drive for them...
