I have a few parts that came with my disassembled D25 that I'm not sure what they are or where they go. Perhaps someone might recognize them.

'A' bolt with a round head with one flat side, I have a couple of these.

'B' plain round tube/cylinder (has a fracture/crack in it).

'C', same as B but bigger.

'D' seems to have some hydraulic function.

'E' I have no clue.

Any help appreciated.

I'll identify one item-E horn mounting insulator pieces.

That would be the "e" pieces. for mounting the horns to the radiator surround.

C would seem to be a piston to connecting rod pin of the broken persuasion.

Ding! Ding! Correct! I didn't think of a wrist pin. I compared it with the old pistons/pins (forgot I had em') and sure enough that's it.

It's 'B' that is cracked though.

Horn insulators...I guess you stack them for a spring/flex action?

I also have what looks like a temperature sending unit/probe, it's about 8-1/2" long. I can't find an orifice the deep enough for it to fit into. (did I just say that?) anyway, it has single electric terminal on the end (broken). How long

is the temp sender supposed to be on the flatheads?

Thanks!

May show how those horn pieces go together in a repair manual.

If not, I could go at a future time and look at my set of horns sitting in

the garage.

"B" might be a tough one....

Evidently, no one else has a clue as to what "E" is either, including me. I know you said you didn't want to pop for a parts manual..........but whatever "E" is, would be shown in the parts manual.;) Not only that, but each attaching bolt is listed in the book with the size and type the bolt is supposed to be. That parts manual would be the best money you'll spend on your car in my opinion.;) Was the first thing I bought after buying my coupe back in 1995. I've used it more than the service manual over the years.

Norm E was the first part identified. Its what holds the horns to the horn bracket. All those pieces get stacked together and bolted to the horns.

Ed,

That explains why I didn't know what they were. Mine were not that pretty.:D I missed the post about them too. But.....as mentioned, and I'm sure you know, if they are the horn plates, they are also listed and have a nice blow up picture of them in the parts manual.;)

"B" could be the rear motor mount spacer/washer tube that has the welded washer broken off. Inner Dia. of .470" Sizes are approximate.

My vote for "A" is it looks like the rear axle outer oil seal bolts, the half round head is on the diff side, the nut is on the brake side.......andyd

Thanks for the horn picture Bob. Looks like I've got everything I need for that.

Don, do you know where the oil relief piston goes? Does it use a spring?

Bolt 'A' is a little small for a con rod bolt. It's about 1-1/4" long.

part 'B' is 2.43" long and .56" OD.

Does anyone recognize the part pictured below? It looks like a temp sender

and it's about 8-1/2" long.

I ordered a shop manual that should be here in a few days. I'm also trying to find a parts book for reasonable.

Thanks to everyone for the assistance. This is a great forum.

That looks like whats left of an aftermarket headbolt style block heater. If thats what it is you are in luck because you don't need it

If bolt "A" has a overall length of 1.460" X .440" shank Dia. it's most likely a std. flywheel bolt.

Externally, the block & ports don't look exactly like the one in your picture (note the lower brass fitting angle). Perhaps mine and the one in your picture are the same in function?

I'm not sure what's happening internally with the routing of the oil galleys. I don't have a filter/cannister yet.

If you don't have an oil filter canister, why do you have the lid to it? The round part on the left side of this picture looks like the lid to the oil filter canister. Just above the bottom square part. The original style filter canister will not look like Don's Full Flow canister. Or.......even the picture posted by Don. That one is for a DeSoto.

The car came with the lid, but no canister. I have an aftermarket canister from an old '37 chev project that I could use if possible. That chrome lid happens to fit perfectly and looks quite a bit like the one in your picture. What are some visual differences between a full flow and a bypass arrangement?

Dodgeb4ya & James, I think you are right about the flywheel bolts, as I have found six of them (long block).
