BobT-47P15 Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Looks like the Russian "Chevroletski" with a late model Nissan bed added. Quote
Frank Elder Posted November 29, 2009 Author Report Posted November 29, 2009 I have no idea what the frontend is but it looks like it is an old datsun or chevy Luv bed. Quote
Robin (UK) Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 (edited) It's a Standard Vanguard, approx 1950. The first picture shows the early grille. The second picture shows the pick-up body, with later grille. Edited November 30, 2009 by Robin (UK) Quote
B-Watson Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 It started out life as a Standard Vanguard, built between 1949 and 1952. The sedan had a very post-war Plymouth look to it which was not surprising as the stylist spent some time in front of the U.S. embassy in London taking sketches of a 1946-48 Plymouth. Forget it it was Standard's head, John Black, that liked the Plymouth or the stylist. The engine was a 2-litre four also used in some British-built tractors. Bill Vancouver, BC Quote

Don Coatney Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Is this a "unibody" truck? Quote
B-Watson Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Is this a "unibody" truck? No, the Vanguard had a body and frame until the redesigned Phase III models were introduced in 1955. The Vanguard had Lockheed brakes, same as Mopar. Bill Vancouver, BC Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 the above pictured car looks constitpated..out of proportion or something...the negative rake in the rear does not help either...in real life this thing may look better and be one that does not photograph well..could be partly due to the skirts also..thats a high waisted wheel arch Quote
