Lee Exline Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 On the listing of accessories for this site it lists Spare tire valve extension but it does not have the part number (8301970) or a picture of one. But it can now! I have just listed my NOS example on Ebay but before it goes everyone can snag some of the pictures from the listing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290374386252 I all the years Ihave been dealing NOS MoPar parts this is the first NOS example I have seen. And it is really nice for a 60+ year old part Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 I don't think it would work too well on a Chrysler woody- especially a convertible. The wood is a little too thick! Like 7". Bob Quote

Like 7".Bob I never even considered that! It couldn't even go on the rear quarter as suggested in the directions for installation so the T&Cs are out. WIll have to go back and correct my description. Young Ed Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Wow makes the one I paid $5 for look good. I think mine is a slightly newer box design but still NOS. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 had one of these on one of the few 49's I owned in days gone by.. Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 it is a most uncommon accessory for sure..but would I drill a hole in the body to mount one..not today...!! they are nice just as they are...on diplay in the trunk or memorabilia collection in the shop/garage Quote
T120 Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 (edited) I share your opinion.I'm rather reluctant to drill holes in an otherwise stock automobile to install an option - regardless of whether or not it was available as an option. It does require some consideration.Personally I don't go for cars that are equipped with every available add-on.It can get rather tacky. But then that's my opinion. Young Ed Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 So since you got $158.00 for yours I'm thinking maybe I should part ways with mine too Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 When you think about it. Really, how much trouble is it to open the trunk to check the air in the spare, or add air to it. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 I glad you found a buyer...these little accessories make all the difference at car shows competing for points or bragging rights...I'm with Norm...if you only knew how hard that is to admit....! Quote

Really' date=' how much trouble is it to open the trunk to check the air in the spare, or add air to it.[/quote']Or for someone else to let the air out. Which is why I would never install it. Now if you could find a modern equivalent and use it to make a remote for checking the under bed spare tire that might be more useful Quote
