Anyone have pics of really nice, clean, non-stock engine bays. Im going to keep my original inline 6, but would like to somewhat of a rod-esque dressup (chrome, billet, paint, etc.). Just looking for some nice dressed up pics?

Engine compartment is not all that nice because I have not gotten to the bodywork / paint stage and not sure what color I am going with but I think the engine itself turned out nice. Want to add an aluminum head some day but that is about it.

I like my bay. Nothing fancy though.

Best.

I really like your setup. Whered you get the chrome oil filter housing, or did you just polish the one you had (are they aluminum?). Also, whered you get your air cleaners?

Love the look of Pete's. Wish I had the money to afford that Edgy head <3<3 . What type of alternator pulley is needed for our cars? Will a regular vbelt pulley work?

Side note, anyone know if there is a crossover chrome waterneck that fits these motors? Maybe some variety of sbc or something?

Try one off a 440 or 360.

I can see I need to do some updating on my pictures. I really don't have a full shot of the bay lately. But I can tell you that engine is just as clean now as it was when the video was taken two years and and about 18,000 miles ago. I run with the hood off during the summer because I like how it looks and shines. I will take some of the bay before I put the hood back on in the next couple of weeks.

Loving the use of anodized fittings. Which head is that, doesn't appear to say edgy. Also, are those weber carbs? And the aircleaner?

As Greg noted, the head is a vintage Edmunds, as is the intake manifold. The carbs are Carter Webers, purchased from Langdon. I made my own throttle linkage to use the OEM bellcrank instead of going cable operated. The air cleaner is an Obrian (sp?) Trucking unit. It's actually just the top section of an air cleaner, you have to make your own bottom section.

Gorgeous, would like mine to look very similar. Can you give details on the carbs, air cleaners, oil breather, and that water neck?

Thanks

The carbs are from Langdon's.

The air cleaners are K&N, using a base plate from the air filters Langdon sells.

The oil breather is a PCV set up from Vintage Power Wagons I think they are called. (I have changed that set up recently for a cleaner look.)

The water neck and hose you can get most places, just be careful of quality.

I like the chrome and stainless look.

My guess is that Arthur either had his oil filter housing chromed, bought it from someone that had it done, or it was on the car when he bought it. There were no oil filter housings that came with a chrome finish, that you could buy from the store. I have seen people selling chromed ones, both on ebay and swap meets. But again, they didn't come that way, someone had them plated after buying them.

Don,

Looking at that again, you may be right. I painted my oil filter housing and air cleaner with Chrome paint when I rebuilt my engine. Looked great back then, but over the years it did dull out a little. Arthur's hasn't been used yet in that picture. So........if it is just paint, it won't stay looking that nice after running the car.

If it is polished steel, would a clearcoat be enough to protect it from rust? Thanks for all the various info guys!

Really don't know. But........if that's what you think you want, go for it. The worse that can happen is that it will start to rust later. At that time, you can still take it off and redo it another way.
