Don Coatney Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Tim; As my schedule now stands I need to be home on Sunday, October 32nd. so I can fly to Newark for a week, and then on to Houston for two weeks for a total of three weeks on the road. Yes, Yes I know tober does not have 32 days, but an October 24 gathering could work out much better for me. Quote

Jacqualine47 Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Oooh oooh, can I dress like a pirate since its Halloween?? LOL just kidding. So long as academy hasn't eaten my life, I'd be interested in coming - I just hope that I actually have my Desoto by then... +grumbles about silly guy whom hasn't gotten his camaro and given her the rest of her money yet+ PM sent Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 8, 2009 Author Report Posted September 8, 2009 come dress as a police officer and scare the heck out of everyone..it really is not a Halloween party of any sort..just the most opportune time for a few other members and my meets my schedule also... Quote
Jacqualine47 Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 But... what if that isn't exactly a costume per se by then? Recruits DO get uniforms you know - just not badges until graduation. Quote
maurice wade Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Tim, I'm from Oklahoma, so I don't guess I should come to the party. Maurice;) Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 8, 2009 Author Report Posted September 8, 2009 if you could I would put in for an order for some clean midwestern chrome... Quote
Don Coatney Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Cops have been known to attend the Adams parties. Quote
Jacqualine47 Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Why is the TN license plate slanted like it was photoshopped or something? And what is that silver thing on the state trooper's Sam Browne belt (that's the technical term for a male duty belt - Sally Browne Belt would be the name for one I'd wear... they're named after a British general whom had the first one created so that he'd have a solid draw on his sabre following the amputation of his left arm)... that's going to bother me now... it can't be his keys because he'd have a key-keeper as standard equipment... ...so Don... you know that there will be no sleep-repoing in GA if you visit our fine state, riiiiight??? +grins+ (I may be new, but I picked up on the running gag because it pops up EVERY TIME I do a search on a technical issue LOL) Quote
Don Coatney Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 (edited) Look at the shape of the state of Tennessee. Then look at the lisence plate. http://www.tennessee-map.org/tennessee-road-map.gif Edited September 8, 2009 by Don Coatney Quote

Joe Flanagan Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 I'm telling. I'm calling the authorities. One of you is bound to have contraband in your car. Moonshine, most likely. Unless you invite Norm's Coupe. He's liable to bring hallucinogenic drugs. Quote
Jacqualine47 Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 LOLs... I could say something... but I think I'll just sit back with my notepad and pen... +giggles+ Quote

Unless you invite Norm's Coupe. He's liable to bring hallucinogenic drugs. just because Norm wears rose colored glasses (don't make me have to post the picture Norm) does not mean he is a confirmed follower of Timothy Leary..of course..this is autumn in his neck of the woods and as we all know..the toadstools are popping up... if Norms shows up...its steaks for everyone...(commissary has good prices on T-bones) one perk for retired military... Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 HAA!! Good one, Tim. Is Norm's Coupe a connoisseur of wild mushrooms? Only Norm knows for sure. Heck, maybe that's why he never drives his car. And the tinted glasses? That's so you can't see his eyes. Fess up, Norm. I know you're not sitting up in your house on Saturday night watching Lawrence Welk reruns. Quote
PatS.... Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 LOLs... I could say something... but I think I'll just sit back with my notepad and pen... +giggles+ Can we play with the siren and flashy lights??? Quote
Jacqualine47 Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Unfortunately, I don't have those yet... have to make it through the hiring process and academy first... but... after that... NO! Unless we install some on an old mopar of course - then we'd be obligated to 'test' them LOL Quote
55 Fargo Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Unfortunately, I don't have those yet... have to make it through the hiring process and academy first... but... after that...NO! Unless we install some on an old mopar of course - then we'd be obligated to 'test' them LOL Not sure what the Police Academies and Prison Guard Academies are like in the Southern USA, but I can tell you up here ,what they taught us in Core Training was all great stuff, especially the self-defense, chemical weapons training, baton training, firearms training. But a lot of the theory was just that "Theory", cuz once you hit the streets, or the "Cell Blocks/Ranges/Units", life in Prison, or the criminal world is a whole other Kettle of Fish. I wish you the best of luck with your process, wanted to be a Cop at one point, but ended up beinga Federal Correctional Officer, Ist I started as a Provincial Jail Guard(aka County Lock-up type facility, or State Prison), then I worked with Juvies for a year or so, that was a miserable job to say the least, kids are not easy customers. Then I worked ata Medium/Max prison full of Gang Members, and Gang Wars, now I am happy to say I have been posted to a Minimum Security Federal Pen, for the last 7 years. In my work life, I am never around the average citizen, except for most of the staff, as I am surrounded by criminals every time I go to work, and even in Minimum Security, I have some Inmates with Very Heinous Offences.....All The Best enjoy your training, study hard, really learn to read people, to be aware at all times of your surroundings, and those you come in contact with, always work as a team with your partner(s) and squad, and to use logic and instinct, and you will surely have a great career ahead of you........ Jacqualine47 Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Rockwood, thank you for the vote of confidence. This is something I've been preparing for for a very long time (Heck, I have over 140 semester hours of university criminal justice, sociology, and psychology coursework... so hopefully all that training will help). Sooooo... Are you going to make it to Adams' party? +giggles+ (I know, its not happening... even if there is steak involved, eh? Maybe if I promised you a big hug and a slice of my pineapple pie?)
