1955 plymouth Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 (edited) :)It sure seems classics are soooo inexpensive right now. I am amazed at the deals out there if you are looking. I can pick up this '53 Plymouth right now for $300.00. Is anyone else out there taking advantage of this right now or am I the only one going nuts in a down economy? It sure seems like if you ever wanted to get into something and never had alot of money, right now is the time to buy in. Oh, it sure is fun too, never thought I could get so many "cool car" coments without spending a ton of cash. Edited May 20, 2009 by 1955 plymouth Quote
RobertKB Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 That is a good price and the car looks quite decent although "well worn". To make it really nice will take a lot of effort and certainly some money. Does it run? Good luck with the project. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 That one appears to need some body work, especially on the passenger side. However, it might make a good parts car if you didn't want to fix it. Quote
PatS.... Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Judging by the classifieds around here, these folks are still suffering from Barrett-Jackson syndrome. Outrageous prices on cars/trucks that seem to not be selling...the ads never disappear. We haven't been hit hard by the recession YET, so maybe that explains it. Bob, that Plymouth looks like a good buy. Quote

Scott1953 Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 I have to agree, I see some pretty decent deals out there right now too. I don't ever pursue them because I'm not in a position to have a second old car right now, but just the asking price on some of the 'driver condition' projects seems low. Not to mention the final selling price usually ends up being lower than the asking price. My 53 was had for $900 and I thought that was a steal of a deal, as I was able to drive it home 30 or so miles. Quote
Young Ed Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 There's a 51-52 wagon(i forget which) and a 51 belvedere in the 3K range here in minneapolis. Lots of stuff around if you've got cash. Also a 61 Plymouth 2dr wagon. Now thats a strange cool car! You'll never see another at a show Quote
