Richie Hodge Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 here is a quick pic of the gang.....Hey somebody is driving my Tiger....Richie at the wheel with wife Honey.. Tim, we just sent you more pics from yesterday. We had a great time and enjoyed the food and people. Lots of joking around and light hearted humor. Really was a cool time, thanks again. Richie and Xiaonan. Quote
Richie Hodge Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Does anyone know about the connection betweem Hudson, American Motors and Chrysler Corporation? Richie's Honey Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 19, 2009 Author Report Posted April 19, 2009 Richie's Honey..looked that up some last night, the Hudson was absorbed by Nash, formed American Motors..that was later in part taken in by Chrysler..so as the Hudson is basically an orphan auto..the Mopar group does invite these vehicles to particpate and show/race in their events. So in reality you were right at home as was the Sunbeam Tiger as it has a factory Chrysler Pentastar on its front right lower fender Quote
Richie Hodge Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Thank you Tim, I know there is connections. Richie is not here, but he log in early, so I can use it! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 19, 2009 Author Report Posted April 19, 2009 I want to thank you for sending me a copy of all the pictures you took at the gathering. It was good to see some of the gang here at the house and just hope all enjoyed the fellowship and food....we need to do this more often...,maybe just maybe a fall get togehter could be arranged even more in advance so more poeple could arrange their schedule to attend... Quote
Richie Hodge Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Tim, I left the house for a few minutes and you see what happened, next time I'll just log off so Honey can't intrude. Another fall get together would be great and you can count on us being there. Maybe we all could bring the majority of food next time and take some of the burden away from you and Sal. Honey said she will make some Chinese food and bring it, (she is an excellent cook). Anyway, it was great and thanks again. Richie Quote
Don Coatney Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Lisa and I just returned home. Once again thanks to Tim, Sal, Margaret, and all the attendees. It was really a great time. We stopped for a visit with Don Gaines and his wife on the way home. Too bad he could not attend. His D-24 looks and runs great! Quote
Don Coatney Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 I'm a Dodge man but I love that Hudson. Richie treated me to a ride in his Hudson. I am in lust with his Hudson. If I could sell my Plymouth and buy his Hudson I would do it in a heartbeat. There is not enough room in this thread to say all the things that are great about his Hudson. Richie told me that as he was driving from Atlanta down to Tims stable that his speedometer was reading around 70 MPH but his GPS said 85 MPH. He has an overdrive transmission and his engine was not straining. As he was passing semi trucks the Hudson did not rock and roll as my Plymouth does like a sailboat without a keel. I will buy a Hudson when I find the right one. Here is another picture and follow the link below for several more pictures of the Adams party. A great time was had by all attendees. We even got some wrench time on Lou Earls Plymouth. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v65/DonCoatney/Road%20trips%202004/2006%20Road%20Trips/The%20Adams%20Party/Adamsnumber2/ Quote

We can talk for hours about cars and such. Quote
blueskies Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 ...I will buy a Hudson when I find the right one.... Don- If I'm keeping my Plymouth, you can't sell yours... There's no way I'm buying a Hudson for the BIGGER RACE... Your ARCH RACE RIVAL, Pete Quote
No Bux Rod Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 Tim, Looks like a fun gathering last Saturday. I just showed my wife the photos to prove to her that I am not the only "old" Mopar guy around. Maybe next time I will be able to make it. Thanks for the invitation. //dave (AKA No Bux Rod) <-- Hey maybe that is why I did not make it, no vintage car just some flathead motors. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 22, 2009 Author Report Posted April 22, 2009 Number of people said they did not have a car to drive..not required...show up in the modern iron and enjoy the company and food..my car was on display and they is nothing inside but a pillow on a milkcrate...the weather was just fantastic...form here on in till fall..it will only start getting hot here in the south..bah HUMBUG..(HUMidity and BUGs) Hopefully next time there will be a chance to have more advance notice...and a special project for the gang to tackle...
