BobT-47P15 Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 Have you fellows looking for certain parts checked the Parts For Sale section of this forum. You find it from the very first "www.P15-D24.com" up in the header bar. The best approach is to send a PM (personal message) to the seller to inquire if certain pieces are still available.......or what he has to offer. To send a PM you click on the person's name and choices appear. Hope this helps. Here's a link to that section: http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/forumdisplay.php?f=11 Quote

It gets frustrating when you go through that route and get no where. That is why some of us decide to take our needs/wants to the general forum. Sometimes, people have a part around that they would consider trading/selling/lending, but just haven't given much thought to posting it for sale. Keepin' it around just in case. Quote
claybill Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 thats true neon....usually when something is triggered in a discussion thread ..someone will announce a related part for sale or available. its ok i think. a little different than listing 'parts for sale' on the form. bill Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted April 2, 2009 Author Report Posted April 2, 2009 True, I have encountered one or two people I could not get response from. I think some just sign up for the forum, list something, and think magic will occur. They don't seem to come back very often to check the section for questions posted by possible buyers. That one fellow who goes by Mike's Moth has received many inquiries, but to my knowledge has not responded to anyone. At least not lately. Old Man at the Sea, I believe his name is John, did contact me to say he had been gone for a time.....so at least, even if he doesn't have the part in question, I know he got my inquiry. So, some things are listed by regulars, others by essentially "strangers" who just joined to list. I guess, if one of us puts things in the for sale section, we should be sure to mention it in our posts or maybe our signature line. The reason I brought this up is because people are always looking for something, like a brake drum or you-name-it and sometimes those things are being offered here. I don't know how to make the system better, but at least there's a chance to seller might be paying attention. Can't hold everybody's hand, I know. Quote
Tony Cipponeri Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 Speaking of parts, I have some stainless, for a 50 Plymouth. I have a grill, with a couple of dents, I have three rocker panel moldings, ( don't know the lenghts off hand ) one center of the hood strip. Any body can have them for the shipping. Tony C Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted April 2, 2009 Author Report Posted April 2, 2009 There you go!!! Can't get a much better offer than that. Quote
Young Ed Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 Tony the guy who just bought Dads 50 may like that stuff. I'll try to get him on the forum Quote
RobertKB Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 Bob, thanks for the reminder. I have parts on there but unless you add to the the replies if kind of sinks lower on the list of threads. I have gone and updated it. 1954 Plymouth/Canadian Dodge parts. I have sold some parts through the forum and always respond to interested people's responses. However, most parts have sold through ebay and some through Kijiji. Quote
P15Mike Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 I still have my 48 p15 parts car and still selling parts from . Ive sold to many on here already and still have plenty left . Ive been pretty busy lately with the kids but still try to get on here at least every other day . For anyone wanting anything big it will need to be picked up , not interested in shipping the rear or hood , you get the idea . I havent done the ebay thing yet , dont know if i want to go through the aggrivation etc ... Still have 90% of the car let me know , i probabaly still have it . Mike Quote
Don Jordan Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 I never thought I'd get to the point where I don't NEED any parts. Of course it's taken years to get there. Now all the parts are "wouldn't it be neat to get"? Things like a clock for under $500 or a radio speaker. But I keep buying silly things that I don't need and no one will ever see. I have a pair of aluminum valve covers. I found it does make the car go faster. It's like peeing in a wet suit: kind of gives you a warm feeling but no one can see. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted April 3, 2009 Author Report Posted April 3, 2009 I don't know if this would help or not - but there are two choices about sending a message to someone. One is the PM (private message), the other says send an e-mail. If the seller is not a regular or does not regularly check on his listed parts, then he may not see a PM. Maybe sending the e-mail might be better, presuming his address is still valid. This would show up on his regular email page at home. Quote
aero3113 Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 Hey Tony, do you have any rear fender stone guards for a 50 Plymouth? Quote
