Bingster Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 I hear that California is considering passing a law prohibiting cars from being painted black to save on air conditioning, thus gas mileage. I wonder if there will be an exemption for classic cars? Of course, classics don't usually have air conditiioning. Quote
steveplym Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 I heard that on the radio yesterday. That is really crazy. I hear they are going to replace the color with so dark brown. I think the law only applies to new cars built, but who knows why would they stop there. Quote
Flatie46 Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Yea... they should have done this years ago:rolleyes: . I feel bad that we haven done this sooner. Quote
pflaming Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 There are a lot of Mercedes and BMW's and other BLACK luxary cars, not to mention hearses and cop cars. The Mexican-americans like black and they are plentious out here. I wouldn't get too concerned. PF Quote

dezeldoc Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 I'm telling you every nut case is in some kind of power position and makes these BS laws up to protect their job, My truck is black pearl and it don't get much hotter than my wifes white car. All I can say is I am glad I went and got a job out of high school instead of going to college, I see now what they do to a normal person! Quote
bobby horne Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 The government controling the color of a car, would be more Communist BS, like the seat belt law, and helmet law. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 yes Bobby..but remember..there are seatbelt and helmet laws in place..and enforced...where is it going to end? Quote
steveplym Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 It is probably not going to end, until the American people stand up and say enough. These people in office keep going after ways to take more power away from the people and I'm getting tired of it. Our forefathers fought the revolutionary war to fight taxation and government control. Seems were heading in the opposite direction, as we have been for some time. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 sorta like the e-mail i got the other day explaing one sure fire method to boost the economy in a more positive way with guranteed results for the dollars spent..40 million workers over age 50..give them each a million to retire early with two stipulations...1...creates vacancies and provides empl;oyement to the tune of 40 million jobs 2. that you buy a new american made car...(40 million new car sales) 3..pay off your mortgage or buy a house.. fixes another problem...we willnever see this as it is cost effective and take control of the dollar away from the politician.. steveplym Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Yeah Tim, just like a tax holiday. They don't want you to spend the money, they want to spend the money for you. Quote

Tim I like this solution and would be behind somthing like this even though I would not qualify because of my age.I would reap the other obvious benifits of the econmy takin off again. We often have discussed different scenarios at work like this.I think it has been said by the government that giving back our money would not help because we would not spend it,I guess thats the reason for the stipulations above but have you ever seen anybody win the lottery and not spend it? Quote
steveplym Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 I'd pay off my debt and live happier. I think I could find better ways to spend the money than the government. Plus, it would help the economy. Credit would be freed up and people would start buying cars again. Quote
