This one is going to the scrapper as soon as the Wisconsin lifts the spring weight limits on roads. I know the property owner and he has given me the "all clear" to strip what ever I can off this Plymouth. Every panel has rust through. the frame and floors are shot. No motor, trans, wheels, glass, or interior. Maybe some or the britework is usable but not a lot. I will pull SMALL parts and ship for only actual shipping charges to your location via UPS. Fenders, bumpers or the complete dash are NOT small parts. Anything is free for pick up in northern WI.

WatchingWolf,

I could use that little piece of SS trim on the cowl in front of the passenger door, and the temp gauge. Please PM me for shipping details.

All the gauges, knobs, and brightwork in the interior are more than worth saving because I see them requested here fairly frequently. The lenses and bezels and everything stainless are almost irreplaceable and you'd be doing the forum a great favor to not let them get tossed.

Thanks for the offer.

Wow, I hate to see a coupe go to the crapper:( That would make a great street rod. I have seen folks build with a lot less. This winter I have made my rounds and have seen some great people busting their knuckles on projects.

Um, Rodney, I think that's way beyond resurection...even trying to make it into a rat rod, which it doesn't look to far from already. ;)

It really is too far gone. It is existing purely in domino effect right now. Move one part just a bit too far and the whole thing would cave in.

Randy, you're down for the trim and temp gauge if I can get it out.

Tail and third brake light housings have also been claimed.

WatchingWolf,

The temp gauge is a real bugger to remove with the dash in the car but if you're going to save the panel (please) then you can cut all the wires out of your way (leave a good pigtail on each one for wire gauge identification) and the only mechanical connections are the speedometer and the temp gauge. Disconnect the panel and slooooowly extract the panel while feeding the shielded temp tube through the firewall, a job best done by two people who haven't started drinking beer in ernest.

What I'm looking for is the gauge itself because I fried mine when a freeze plug blew a half mile from home. So I need the head and an excellent post on this forum some time ago describes in detail how to retro-fit the head to the recharged bulb. If you need to cut the tube to get it out then so be it, but I'd prefer to receive it intact. Not to sound as though I'm looking a gift horse in the mouth, I appreciate your generous offers to the forum.

I could use the interior window surrounds if they are still there. Looking for a second set to use while I repaint the current ones. What part of northern WI is that thing in? My parents have a cabin by Danbury

Posted

The engine removal appeared to have been done via the torch and wrecking bar method. If the tube and bulb are intact I will certainly try to remove all the components together, but I really doubt I will find that.

Ed, I know there isn't a complete set of surrounds. One of them was folded over the radiator core support before I took these pictures like someone made a chopping with an axe motion using a surround as the axe. The car is outside of Prentice WI. about fifty miles south and one hundred miles east of Danbury.

Dang I suppose it was one of the door ones too. Those are the 2 I could really use.

i could fix that :o my car looks like that and i have owned it for 15 yrs lol

If that's the best you have done in 15 years, then I doubt you could handle this one! ;)

If it makes you feel any better, both doors are gone, the one leaning against the car is off a Chevy pickup.

trunk lid and hinges are probably worth grabbing as are the teil lights and bezels. If the headlamp buckets are good they are worth grabbing as well.

If you can pull the whole grille assembly it doesn't look to bad and that stuff usually is something folks want.

If you wouldnt mind , take a look at the Special Deluxe button on the speaker grille . If its not flaked i would really appreciate it if you could grab it for me . I have one but mine id flaking and not sure how to repaint them or strip them for that matter . Thx in advance for your help

...I would be interested. With or without bright work as someone else has already expressed an interest in it.

Dash isn't bad that I can tell and here for the taking, but as I stated in the first post, I won't ship anything but SMALL parts. Everything is coming out with hand tools as there is no power anywhere near the car and I don't own a generator. If it won't come out with a wrench, vice grip or screwdriver it isn't coming out.

OldManMike, the button is yours for the claim.

I don't need anything but I really appreciate the fact you are willing to take the time to get parts for fellow forum members. That is really decent of you!

Got rained out today guys, looks like rain til Thursday. I'll get back to everyone when I see what I can salvage.

Still taking parts requests.

Here's the current claim list:

randroid- SS cowl trim and temp gauge with sending unit

YoungEd- any available interior window surrounds

David Maxwell- complete dash without cluster or britework (pickup only/no shipping)

OldManMike- Special Deluxe button from the speaker grill

Kirk-front fender stainless spears

jimainnj- stainless dash knob bezels

BobT-47P15- Britework off the dash, headlight buckets, speedo

BillWillard- taillights, and 3rd brake light bezel

SpeedShark- grill, hood springs, hood hinges, hood brace

If I missed anything, let me know.

anyone claimed the hood hinges and brace yet? good parts to save

Hey WW:

Doing O.K. today? I was wondering about the ignition switch and the lower casing off the heater. I see the hood springs are already spoke for.

Thank You and God Bless Us All..

Okay ~

I talked to the owner of the car again today, he has agreed to let me haul it to the scrap yard for him. As soon as the ground firms up we are going to load the coupe on my trailer and I will part it out here at the house before scrap gets it.

Here's the skinny on all the requested parts. If you don't want them, let me know so I can pass them on to others.

randroid - that little bit of stainless on the cowl looks like someone banged it dead center with a ball/peen hammer just to spite the car, the gauge however looks to be 100% salvageable with the sending unit in place.

YoungEd- The rear window surrounds are still in place but very rusty.

Dave Maxwell- let me know if you have a way to pick up the dash please, otherwise I'm gonna cut it out with the sawzall to access the heater and gauges.

OldManMike- the special deluxe is faded, but not really peeling. I might be fine to just experiment on to see if you can restore it.

jimainnj- the only bezel left in salvageable condition is the one you requested. I may just send you that section of dash and let you figure out how to get it out without ruining it.

BobT-47P15- Britework off the dash is showing some pits and peaks, headlight buckets look solid, speedo is intact and not cracked

BillWillard- taillights, and 3rd brake light bezel are pitted and only the drivers side lens is still there.

Kirk & SpeedShark- grill, fender stainless spears all have bird shot damage in the form of small dents. hood springs, hood hinges, hood brace are all rusted solid.

Will be kinda interesting to see if the thing falls apart when putting it on

the trailer.

It's even worse than this one I ran onto last Sat.....

He wants to sell this as a complete (such as it is) car.

WatchingWolf,

I am still interested in the fender spears. Currently don't have either one so as far as I am concerned for the price of shipping, I can spend some time smoothing out the small dents.

John 47Plevy -- No.....he won't sell certain things off it.....besides the

chrome ring around the dot is real rusty. And there is only one of them.
