Normspeed Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Gonna take a while to get that mental picture erased! Quote
Grandadeo Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 I guess it will sell, what with the price of scrap metal these days and all. Lee Quote
Merle Coggins Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 I guess it will sell, what with the price of scrap metal these days and all.Lee Actually scrap prices are WAY down right now. Prices are so low now that metal recycling yards are reporting very little "suspicious" or "stolen" materials now. Quote
tinlizzy Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Man how would you go around the corner in that thing? You would have to have four or five block radius just to turn around. Talk about a bumpy ride, yikes. Quote
Young Ed Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 It does somehow steer at both ends. So it might make turns. Does it need 2 drivers like a hook and ladder fire truck then? Quote
rearview Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 That is... quite possibly... the ugliest vehicle ever created. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 How about this former airplane, converted into a limo in Mexico??? Or these little numbers??? Quote
Don Coatney Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 How about this beauty. Manufactured by Eisenhowser Co, Van Wert, Ohio. Here is a 1909 motor home. From the 30's. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 They actually used vehicles similar to this around here back in the 30s or 40s to replace some streetcars. The Southwest Missouri Electric Railway Company ran from Joplin to certain area towns over in Oklahoma and Kansas. I saw a picture of the rig somewhere once, but can't find anything on the net showing them. The towing car looked more like a regular vehicle of the day, with the trailer attached in the trunk area. Not quite so futuristic as this one. The trailer was rather similar though. There is still a shop building with the company name on it over in Webb City.....just north of Joplin. It's now being used as a roller skating rink. Webb City restored one of the street cars and has it running thru a park. Quote

Frank Elder Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Banana boat not withstanding, quite a feat. It takes quite a inventive mind to come up with this. Never thought I would see west coast mirrors on a car body. Quote
Oldguy48 Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 That GMC camper isn't something I would be interested in, but I will say that it's builder gets an A+ for creativity. And it appears that it was crafted with a great deal of skill. I wonder how many hours of work were required to create this vehicle? Quote
