Most folks that own these Dodges know up front that they use wheels stud and lug nuts as opposed to the Plymouth and the lugbolt...I myself was a bit taken aback to find that this even applied as far back as 1941 when I got my first Town Sedan

slategrove..as an owner of a 41 and 47 town Sedan..care to post any pictures..?? look for e-mail addy in PM

Tim, I posted some pics of it a few months ago, but I've been pretty actively working on her, so here's what she looked like before I replaced all the glass...

I've also replaced coil, ditributor cap, rotor, condensor, plugs, plug wires, rewired the entire car, sorted out a bunch of break problems, complete with new brake lines, new pitman arm bushings (which made a HUGE differnce), got an original carb back on her, found an oil bath air cleaner, and I'm sure I'm forgetting more, but you get the idea.

OK, Napa told me they could get the LH Thread Lug Studs...waited 2 weeks to hear from them, finally called them and they said no dice. So I thought, I'll just get the RH Thread, and switch all 10 of them out...they got me 10 RH Thread lug Bolts, NOT studs. They don't show Lug Studs in their parts catalogs.

HELP, what do I do?:confused::(

I'm pretty sure that I have both 1/2" LH lug bolts and lug nuts at the shop, brand new. Let me check tomorrow and I'll let you know if and how many of each I have. Feel free to PM me just in case I happen to forget and don't get back with you real soon.

Tim, thanks! They look like they have what I'll need.

Bodacious, I wanted to clarify that I need the studs, not the bolts or nuts.

Thank you guys for all your help

Okay, I was a little unclear on that. Let me know if the above doesn't work out. I've probably got the studs too, but I'd need the required Dorman part number. I do indeed have some LH 1/2" studs. I found some 1/2" LH nuts today too. But I was unable to find the 1/2" L & R hand lug bolts that these old Mopars take and I know I had some, brand new. Maybe I'll run across them by the next time someone here needs them. Anyway, good luck.

Thanks a lot Guys!!! Ordered the 2 LH thread lug studs yesterday from Automotive fasteners, got them today...and installed!!! Good to go for $.97 each plus minimal shipping charges, (NC to NC). I'm a happy camper...now when I rebuild the generator (waiting on the brushes and end bearing) and replace the regulator...hopefully she'll be ready to drive to the gas station!!!

Many fond memories. Just a hop skip and a jump from Lake City where I was raised. This is the very first more door I have seen in sedan trim! So used to the rear handles being in the other location. I like I like!

Glad they came through. I've never dealt with Auto Fasteners but have heard all kinds of good stuff about how they do business.

I've also never installed a wheel stud. Presumably the hub has to be off the car to access the back of the hub, and do they have to be pressed in or could you do a "rube goldberg" and feed the stud through as far as it would go and then use a spacer sleeve and and a wheel nut to draw the stud on until it seats fully?

Or is there a more detailed process required?
