  1. My new ride got dropped off about 10 p.m. last night, I can't wait to go out and start playing with it , of course it's pouring rain right now
  2. So sorry to hear, I recently lost my father to cancer of the esophagus, he fought it long and hard , and he never gave up, it seems like it's in everything these days , the water, the food, medication , just about everything ?
  3. You just have to look in the south, except not as far south as Florida because they're mostly rust buckets with all of the salt in the air
  4. I'm pretty sure this one is going to be a Georgia state patrol car, I've been on this kick of doing police cars lately, I've already done a few CHP cars, a few Sheriff's Department cars, the police cars from the movie In the Heat of the Night with sidney Poitier , and a few others, this is a Ford in the picture (yuck) but that's the basic theme I think I'm going for, until I change my mind again by this afternoon LOL
  5. Yeah I just can't kick The Habit , I've tried hard, Mopar has been an addiction of mine for almost 55 years now
  6. Just when I thought I got the monkey off my back , I had to go out and get another one lol, just picked up this beauty about an hour ago, haven't even seen it yet, I really hate and discourage buying cars off the internet without being able to look at them, but this guy was a veteran, and it is an absolutely Rock Solid Arizona car, little bit of surface rust from baking in the Sun and someone in the past painted over the original paint with a paintbrush LOL but that's it
  7. you don't still have that shifter do you??
  8. yeah somewhere in one of my closets down in Georgia I have a bunch of old late 50s and early 60s JC Whitney catalogs with shifters for the selector trans, but I'm sure you can't get them either LOL
  9. nothing fancy, just nice smooth brass, and I pulled the pentastar off the passenger side fender and he recessed the knob and set it in, when I polish it real good it looks like it's made out of gold LOL
  10. I kind of figured that , it looked like a giant pain in the ass to try and make, I'll be back in Georgia in about a week and a half, and I love my column shifter but I have a shift knob that my grandfather made for me about 40 years ago for my first car and I really want to use it , but it's made of brass and it's way too heavy for a column shift , it would just keep popping it out of gear, weighs about seven pounds LOL, I was just wondering if anyone had started making them
  11. I know I'm beating a dead horse that's been beaten over and over , I was just wondering if anyone has started making a floor shifter for the selector trans yet, or if we still have to try and make our own or find an old foxcraft or dragfast shifter and pay a fortune, thanks
  12. I also ran 215 75 15 on my stock wheels on my 48 Plymouth for years, and then I switched to 15 x 7 Mopar police wheels with 225 75 15 on them
  13. Okay apparently I'm just a moron, it finally stopped raining again so I was able to go out with my test light and check out the car again, car started right up again, but wouldn't shut off again, took my test light, tested all the leads on the ignition switch, everything working fine, then I remembered when I put the new coil on that there was a wire coming from the coil going over by the horn relay that wasn't hooked up, and I thought maybe I pulled it off when I took the old coil off, well apparently that wire was off for a reason because it's bypassing the ignition somehow, I disconnected that wire again and everything is back to normal the car starts and shuts off just like it should, I'm going to have to get a wire diagram and find out what the wire is supposed to go to but apparently it's not supposed to go to the horn relay LOL
  14. I have a cover on the car but we got torrential rain several days in a row with flooding, and then 8 in of snow on top, and then rain again so it's very possible it's actually rained almost every day for the past 4 weeks maybe I'll give that a try
  15. Dodge, and I've looked several times, they have gm style cheap, but for a real mopar switch the cheapest is $250, im going to call Andy today and see what he gets
  16. In my latest acquisition, 1947 Dodge, I went to Walmart and bought a $20 AM FM stereo with a plug-in for mp3 , I believe it's called duel it comes with a little case that goes around it I guess you would call it, I took the radio out of that case mounted the case under the dashboard and then put the radio back into the case very clean neat-looking setup, then I mounted new style Pioneer speakers where the original speaker was, and I mounted a cheap lawn mower battery in the trunk and snuck the wires under the seats and carpet up to the front, works like a charm sounds fantastic, every once in awhile I throw my solar powered trickle charger on the back of the car to the battery. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Dual-Electronics-XDM16BT-High-Resolution-LCD-Single-DIN-Car-Stereo-with-Built-In-Bluetooth-USB-MP3-Player/54596679?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222228052737583&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=151780577244&wl4=pla-317947371767&wl5=9005385&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=54596679&wl13=&veh=sem&gclid=Cj0KCQiAuf7fBRD7ARIsACqb8w4ysCOSK6zPEbqLvHYhmleNqWa7nZpsiDSLLO_ey8Z3p3xyB-6jcdEaAi7fEALw_wcB
  17. Yeah, I'm thinking maybe that's the problem, of course it's like $250 for a new Switch, my kingdom for a garage, it's just too cold to be working on it outside, and it gets dark too early
  18. I haven't ran the 47 for about 3 weeks, because it's been raining everyday, and we also got 8 inches of snow , I tried starting it the other day it wouldn't start, I got out my test light and I had power going to the coil, but no spark coming out, so I figured the coil was bad, I put a new coil on today, made sure the wires were on correctly, the car started right up, but now won't shut off with the ignition it's a 47 so it's got a push-button for the starter, but the ignition seems to do nothing, but worked perfectly 3 weeks ago I had to pull off the coil wire to shut it off , any ideas??
  19. I ran 15x7 1970s Mopar cop Wheels with 225 70 15 radials on my 48 Plymouth for quite a while without any alterations, or any problems
  20. so now I've lost a piece of cowl molding and a hubcap going to car shows
  21. Hit a large pothole on the way home from the car show on Sunday and lost a hubcap I was in heavy traffic, and couldn't pull over, I got home as fast as I could and grabbed my Jeep and went back, but couldn't find it, it's probably stuck in some ones grille or oil pan LOL !!!!!!
  22. I just did the one on my 47 3 days ago, it's much, much easier to stick your head under the dash and unscrew it, very easy to access, I did wd40 in the cable, then a drop of axle grease on the tip, and back into the speedo
  23. Would have been a little better if Phil didn't leave his water bottle sitting on my back bumper LOL
  24. A Short video we shot today messing around with my buddy Phil's drone
