  1. You guys are scaring me. That car looks a lot like the 1930 Chrysler 6 I had in high school.
  2. There are no water passages behind the timing cover other than a core plug. A gasket should come with the pump.
  3. Next thing you know, that dogs gonna be wearin' sunglasses and dodging the papparazzi !
  4. What problem? I don't see a problem.
  5. Just another fringe benefit of bieng retired. You talk on the phone only if you want.
  6. I have been using net10 phones for a couple years now and have never had even one minor problem,,,,,,,yet. I believe they are part of the same company as tracfone. Heres what I do since I only use it to call home or my son, if I don't recognize the incoming phone number, I don't answer. Its become sort of a rule around here; if you don't know who's calling, ignore them. What would your caller have done had you not answered?
  7. I'm sorry to hear you had to sell your car, but theres always the future. You don't have to leave the forum because you don't have a car, stick around and watch the entertainment anyway.
  8. The sender is up high on the head where there is no sludge to impede the flow of coolant. It doesn't tell you the temp lower down in the block where the water isn't moving.
  9. Eneto, it is part of the EPA's rulings. They are assuming that an older engine will not meet the emission requirements of a newer on. So, if you're thinking of a flathead powered Caprice Classic, forget it.
  10. Not a pessimist, but rather a pragmatist.
  11. Shel, I was told possesion of a loose vin tag is a federal violation, not state. It is also a federal violation to install a older motor in a car than what was original.
  12. Seems you have isolated the problem to a faulty generator. Did you get a guarantee when they worked on it? It sounds like they owe you one that works, since thats what you paid for.
  13. Are you at the "grabbing straws" level yet? Change the fanbelt. Are the generator mounting bolts tight? Ammeter connections tight? How much discharge does it show? Is it all the way over discharge, or is it just partial, like ten amps or so? If it goes all the way, i would expect to find a dead short somewhere. If its just partial, its more likely its just not charging enough. Frustrating.
  14. Hmmm, good looking and no dummy, either.
  15. He is one fine and handsome little guy, but, is it possible he is developing some kind of "attitude"? Can a dog really "look down his nose" at you? Or is it just me?
  16. Well, Greg, you made laugh good . It'so true. My parents never gave a thought to what would make us kids fat, just what would fill us up and get us outta the house! Thanks for the laugh.
  17. Well, Neil, listen to this from another Niel; My so and I went to a junk yard in Idaho where I saw what was left of a 49-52 Plymouth with its water pump already gone. I said I'd like to have that water tube, but I don't have the stuff to get it out. My son pulled his little Weatherman tool from his pocket and plucked the tube out like it was a ripe grape. I was so excited that I made him pose with it for pictures. Which I could find in here if I really wanted to. My point is that sometimes everybody gets lucky, you may be next.
  18. Ain't that the truth !!
  19. I have a 230 here with a small clip that holds the line in it and it bolts to the back of the water pump, I think. I'd have to actually get up off the couch and go look to be sure. that probably won't happen right away. It does look factory installed, though.
  20. Congratulations to both of you retirees! Have no fear of nothing to do. That will never happen. You will find something to do, or everyone else will find it for you! Enjoy life on your own time for a change. I've been doing it for seven years now and it just keeps getting better. Welcome to the real life. You earned it.
  21. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FRM-85/Application/?prefilter=1 Ya gotta gimme some time.
  22. No, they don't hit the tube. At least, they're not supposed to! I might help to get them out though, you could get some penetrating oil in the holes and hope it gets to the tube.
  23. Welcome David. Your'e a lucky guy to have two of those! OT, the salesman that I dealt with for a new Buick was from Wellington. Is it a Kiwi invasion?
  24. Nice video, I had to watch it twice, once to see the cars and again to see the scenery!
