  1. some of those plug types/numbers are resistor type plugs. The gaps are set different
  2. I've seen the machine shops on the USS Missouri. impressive.
  3. I think I came in at about $528 total for the front disc buying all new parts.
  4. I just put a scarebird in mine. No problems at all so far.
  5. http://p15-d24.com/classifieds/item/702-47-dodge-coupe-taillights-wanted/ I've figured out that he's a scammer. I asked for photos and he sent me some. I looked on the internet for 47 dodge tail light and found the same photos, I then clicked on them and they came up as an old ebay ad but gave me the guys state which was New York. The guy that is trying to rip me off says he's in Florida. But I did email the guy in NY to see if he still had them. Might get lucky.
  6. I have had an answer to an ad that I placed in the classifieds for tail light bezels. Things seem a little fishy to me. Anyone know Jim Barton of Florida?
  7. try a breaker bar.
  8. I have had real good dealings with Jeff Tillman tmasj69@yahoo.com http://www.uship.com/profile/razzy/ If you speak to him tell him Mike in Alaska recommended him. Cheapest that I could find that had good recommendations. Did what he said.
  9. Not trying to go cheap as I said i want it done right. Just trying to save any money I can for other things. 1947 Dodge 230
  10. I'm just trying to find all the parts to rebuild my engine as cheaply but as well as possible. I will go for quality over cheapness but if I can save a few bucks here and there I can use it elsewhere. I've found these for $5 each new.
  11. So, might help the engine stay minutely cooler?
  12. Not smart on engine internals so a question. Found a set of intake and exhaust valves that are labeled as follows: SET OF SIX INTAKE & EXHAUST VALVES FOR 1942-51 DODGE, PLYMOUTH, 1942-50 CHRYSLER INDUSTRIAL ENGINES 5,T-112, 6, 1-116 MCQUAY-NORRIS NUMBER V-1335N/V-1334 Are these the same as our car engine valves?
  13. mattias the one rich put up is $200 made to o rder
  14. Rich I've searched their site and find no headliner. Not on their site you have to download their entire catalog. On page 117
  15. tks 40plyrod. Slow going as I have to save the cash for whatever step comes next.
  16. Disc brakes are mounted on the front. Used a Scarebird kit. Only hiccup was that I had to grind a very small bit on the calipers where they slide into the bracket slots. Really happy with it so far.

    Rear drums

    I have 2 11" drums off my 47 dodge.
  18. I've read on here a few times that 40's and 50's mopars have hardened valves. Gas shouldn't be a problem. Don't know about the oil but from what I can see in my engine it could have used some detergent in the oil. Huge amount of sludge deposits.
  19. the sills don't line up with the bottom of the fenders either.
  20. The only thing that I really like about it is the welded on rear fenders. The lines flow so well.
  21. Welcome Elvis. Very nice looking car.
  22. A little more progress. New Moog springs and tie rod ends. Going with Scarebird front discs. I'd like to give some credit to Rich Hartung for the loan of his Miller tools to put the A-arms back together. Made it go much smoother and quicker. Rich is offering a great service loaning these tools out.
  23. vht I am going on a 12 float hunt here in Alaska today. I'll be back somewhere around the 17th.
