  1. I had to break the original mirror to get it out and see the mechanism. Friend with a glass business cut a new mirror for me.
  2. Another side project. The only way to rechrome this used unit I found was to take it apart. Took a big chance I had no idea what was underneath the mirror. Small Spring and a screw which I had to retap new threads. Used a blue thread locker and then epoxied a new mirror. This is the driver's side which was really beat. I have a NOS for the passenger side.
  3. Eaton Springs had new for my 47 Dodge Coupe FYI. Easy to work with over the email and phone.
  4. Windshield frame, and rear view mirror complete. Straight piece of wire helped find the hole for attaching screws
  5. Marc, there are three different adjustments. I followed the service manual on these and got it lined up. Do you have a manual?
  6. Thanks, Slow going past few months. Waiting on an upholstery shop to do the door and rear panels. Will be VERY close after that is done.
  7. My original antenna needed some TLC, and was a real bear to install. Had to remove center floor panel to get the angle right, and still had to bend it more than I was comfortable but it did not break. The exterior bezzle made of plastic was cracked repaired it with bondo , it came out OK Metro still makes the correct replacement gasket.
  8. Casper50 Did you ever get the antenna installed? I have the same issue with my D24
  9. Title_1.mp4 Good news Marc, My first start video here shows my wiring. Remote starter button was only add on. No dash or gauges in at that point .

    Motivation

I've tried to do one thing, no matter how small each day. Sometimes it's just cleaning or painting a small part for future install.
  11. Hello all. Another 40 year memory lapse. I have no recall on how I removed the cowl mounted antenna. I'm guessing I need to remove the center floor panel to lower the antenna and angle it into the cowl. Any experience and advice on thus please ?
  12. Allbizz49, Your wiper arms have this same hook ?
  13. This is the wiper arm from my D24. See the blade end connection type. What blade will fit this ? Is there an adapter required? Thanks all in advance
  14. Special tool for guides, or an air hammer tool.
  15. Sniper, yes, the jack and tools would be great to have. Many borrowed or left on the side of the road after a flat.
  16. PA, I also have the retainer and bolt that secure the spare. They are under this cover. This , according to the parts book, is the spare wheel cover. Listed under the hub cap section. I tried an old dDodge dog dish cap but it will not fit over the retainer. That lead me to the parts book, and my find. Seems like a part that was easily lost over the years.
  17. After all these years I'm still seeing things in the parts book that I don't need ... but I just gotta have. NOS Spare wheel cover. Part # still visible. Who knew? Anybody seen / have one of these?

  20. Too much paint seen here before I did it over.
  21. Marc, I learned the hard way NOT to paint the small section of the shift rod that has to slide through the soft fabric bushings. So stuff I had to remove again and sand off the paint in a few inches. FYI
  22. Mark, Looks like you had this correct gasket on there. Maybe over filled ?? I recall that hole being odd, I think it's only purpose was for assembly.
  23. Enjoy your Holiday fellow gear heads ! Merry Christmas
  24. Take your handbrake cable to a local wire rope/ cable shop. They can restore it with new wire cable.
