  1. A bit of an update. Things have been progressing slowly. All of the rust has been removed from the passenger side, and metal is starting to go back on. We pulled the front end and sent off to media blasting in order to see what is usable or needs replacement. The rear fender flare that was made off the car doesn't quite fit, so it needs some love to get into shape. While the front end is off, I hope to be able to get in and paint some of the motor while accessible. I started stripping the firewall for paint as well, and have blasted and repainted some of the smaller items that could fit in a friends blasting cabinet. Still, nice to see some progress...
  2. Thanks, I found a clock in a parts bin, and picked it up. The chrome is gone from the bezel and it needs a rebuild, but the price was right, and I thought if all else fails..... the more I think on it though, I'm digging the basic no frills dash. RSD
  3. Looks good. I'm trying to find a place to chrome my original bumpers, but in the mean time have been thinking of painting the second set I have like yours.
  4. Love those old wagons. Cool looking and super practical as a classic.
  5. A bit of an update on the Chrysler. We're still plugging away at it, and things are picking up quite a bit. I'm trying to find replacement seals and molding, but am coming up short on ones for the rear quarter glass vents. I may have to buy and modify something to make it work.
  6. Nice, I always enjoy it when I am able to get out and meet up with members. Unfortunately I've been so busy at work (work weekends) that I've had little time.
  7. Nice, I will have to check the museum out sometime. Maybe one day when I get finally my car done. RSD
  8. Nice looking car. I agree wiht the above, enjoy it for a bit and make sure all is god. Then ad the little touches that wou want. RSD
  9. Nice project. I'm just over in New Hampshire working on a '54 Club Coupe. I'll keep an eye out for anything '51 over in this area. RSD
  10. Very nice. Looks like a great project. Looking forward to more updates.
  11. Slowly stripping down to bare metal. A few more pic's.
  12. A bit more cutting and replacing metal. The drivers side os comming together, moving over to the rear end. The parts car donated much of its trunk floor for it. [/url]
  13. Very Nice! You live in a beautiful area of the world. I was there last fall for Oktoberfest, although I must confess that I do not do well with crowds and was happy to get out to the country after a few days. In New Hampshire, they do not title vehicles over 15 years, so older than that you get an annual registration. I was able to get an 'antique title' for my old Norton and BMW motorcycles when I moved up here, but am not sure if they still offer them. As an antique though, you can skip one year between inspections. NH does still require safety inspections on all vehicles, no emissions yet. I am still restoring my Chrysler, so haven't had time to really experience it. ein schöner Tag, Erich
  14. Welcome from New Hampshire. looks loke a nice first classic. Eric
  15. Very nice!. Keep up the good workl. I love these '54's.
  16. Nice! I've always liked the look of a nice custom. Lots of work, but a cool look.
  17. Staying with this original thread here, even though progress is slow. I managed to find another '54 2 door nearby missing its doors. This one is in a little worse shape, but has some good parts I can pull. Wish I had the space to keep it around. ]
  18. It has been slow going. Everything has been stalled waiting to get parts back from vendors. I also need a new hood ans a few parts, and found a whole parts car. Main problem with that has been getting in touch with the owner to make arrangements as he always seems to be out of town and has to reschedule.
  19. I've got a lot on my plate this summer, but if the date lines up would love to get out and meet up.
  20. It's been a while with the '54, so I thought I would add some photos. Floors and rockers are in. Drivers door is patched and ready for primer. We'll need to pull the front and rear windows next. They are all filled with tons of sealer that someone used to try to stop a leak. I've seen a few places that supply new window seals, and list the '54 chryslers. Does anyone have experience with a supplier they would recommend?
  21. Are there any trim pieces or emblems? II need some for my Chrysler 54 coupe.
  22. Predicting 12-14" starting in a few hours. Should be an interesting drive home as I work till about 12pm tonight. Only a light dusting on the ground now.
  23. I love those old Suburbans. hopefully is is going to a good home.
  24. Nice, I dig the portable Victrola as well. I've got one similar and am always surprised how loud they can be.
