  1. A logger is cutting a lane to rivers edge, then will build a crushed all weather "road" in that lane. We can then put an RV down there for summer vacations. I dont question others beliefs, but I do like to know something about them.
  2. . . . and probably had one arm out the window also.
  3. Vegan food in Maine. I lunched in a vegan cafe in Skowhegan. Their potato/chicken soup was excellent. I asked the owner/waitress what was the underlining philosophy of vaganism. Answer, Healthy food. So I asked if vegans believe animals have souls and what happens upon their demise. Answer, everything consists of energy which reincarnates upon physical death. So I asked, in the grand scheme of life, is there a heaven or hell and is there an ultimate source? Answer, no on heaven and hell, yes on ultimate source. So ended the exchange. I wanted to ask what role the ultimate source played in the scheme of life and if onions came from grumpy people and if fruit energy came from beautiful people but then that might get a bit sticky/wiki. It is always interesting to extend these isms to possible end results. If done so, fruits and vegetables might not be so appetizing. or "I'm my own grandpa?" H,m,m,m If only that bowl of soup could speak up!
  4. I've decided not to pursue this, but sure would like to have that wiper assembly. I may try one more time.
  5. A sample of 100+ cars. I watched some 50 cars drive into town. Very interesting, but the spacing was erratic. The crowd was HUGE, too large for me. The tractor collector wasn't home, this was in his open door shop. Lots of tractors but not many restored unless he has a large building somewhere else. No one around, I don't snoop, looked at what was obvious only.
  6. Here is my R10 overdrive transmission with a custom fabricated floor shifter attached. It is mechanically sound now needs some cosmetic milled parts.
  7. Out and about today. Found this vintage boat engine repair shop. He opened a van and showed me a rare engine powered canoe, he found and restored.
  8. Anyone want a rare IH Truck? This was a one year cab design. I think it has a huge V 8.
  9. Seller wants $300. Some one offered him $200 for the corner window glass and I might have given him $100 for the wiper mounts, gauges, speedometer ,and, knobs. He would now have his $300 and could sell the carcass to scrap for $160 to total $460.. he won't sell parts. Maybe, if some of you send me what you need, we can get $300 together and I would pick up the "truck" harvest thevparts and sell the remainder to scrap. The doors are toast. PM me if interested. I'm her til July 2.
  10. John, I visited with his wife, she said to call, she was confident he would give me a tour, but not anxious to sell anything.
  11. I found this last Saturday, I want to buy the wiper mounts, sure hope he'll part out, if not, may then buy it all and part out myself. I think the corner window glass has value. The doghouse and engine are missing. Need something pm me.
  12. That Kendall sign is priceless. That would be cool in any shop.
  13. The metal snap in devices can be slightly rusted in. I removed the entire seat assembly from the floor, removed from the cab and then could "break" the cushions loose. My problem now, like many others , is that it's getting more difficult to get " my seat" into the vehicle. LOL
  14. Can you identify this sedan? I caught the jogger, didn't see him coming.
  15. Tractor for sale, along side the road. Seldom see this size tractor In the east. It is a 47. Dad had a 45 and a 34. I drove them many, many hours, four summers.
  16. This afternoon the family decided to go to Camden, I let them go and I drove roads less traveled. Set one is a rural repair shop closed decades ago, left without changing anything. Through the window sat a 47 ish Ford truck. Note the pump. Can anyone identify the black sedan? Set two, a hiker along the road told me of this road. Two miles down was the remains of this house. Note the child's swing. I wonder how old the children are today who swing on that swing? Roads less traveled, intrigue me.
  17. Very nice, TKS. I saw a couple non woodies so the criteria was not strictly enforced and that's ok. , loved the MOPARS.
  18. What kind of a fountain? Soda? "
  19. So we are again with our kids in Maine. Today was cool with ocassional light rain, very refreshing.
  20. This afternoon, our 19 year old granddaughter looked down to read a text, grove off the road onto the shoulder on a narrow winding country road, overcorrected and "flew" across the road and crashed in the opposite ditch. She was not physically hurt, but the car will require some cosmetic work. People just do no listen and refrain from cell phone use while driving. Her mother always has her phone to her ear. I refuse to ride with someone who uses the cell phone, I just politely request to be let out of the car and I mean it. That always stops the use at that time. I have lost three acquaintances because of such disregard. A word to the wise!
  21. Per my recollection, in around 1939 BW made some improvements internally, yet the housing did not change. I have fabricated a floor shifter for my R10 and the standard three speed transmission.
  22. Mike, will the R10 overdrive transmission attach to the 39 bellhousing? I believe it will.
  23. We are in Maine, so can only reflect on what I've been doing and mull over other possibilities. For example, the VW Bug I bought has an engine and transaxle that were operational when parked, which means, a tune up could wake up that engine. That said, I could tune up that engine and transaxle, put it in the "Empi " frame, fix the brakes, wire it in a minimal manner, put good tires on it and have a driver. Upon our return, I may just do that. Maine with its clear blue rivers and lakes, rain washed flora, and roads that still follow the deer trails upon which they were built, is a very enjoyable place to relax. I really enjoy it out here.
  24. This is a Rusty Hope kit and required parts. The total is somewhat short. New flexible brake line hoses and a couple other small items missing. Of course, all new lines and dual master cylinder are needed also. Yet it's an investment to safety.
  25. This is out 16th summer in Maine and I learned today of a John Deere collector only an hour from here who has 100+ John Deere tractors. I will look at that collection possibly tomorrow. I love this country.
