  1. M, Do you or Josh know of anyone that might have one? FG.
  2. BTW, how fast on the freeway would I be able to tool around on just my stock P15 w/o the overdrive? Just out of curiosity... Thanks, FG.
  3. I have the opportunity to purchase one of these. Does anyone know if these work well?
  4. Now I just need to find one... FG.
  5. Ed, Have you done it to your car? And 'legal' speed limit in California is 65mph. Would it be difficult or harmful to a P15 engine to go 65 - 75 mpg w/o the overdrive? Thanks, FG.
  6. Folks, I have 2 Overdrive questions. I rode in a fell P15-D24 member's 47 yesterday. He has an overdrive and I'm wanting an overdrive now. I found a guy with a 53 flat six, tranny and rear end from a a Cranbrook. Do you know if those engines came with the overdrive? Second question is, since I don't have an overdrive at all, does anyone know what modifications need to be done to add an overdrive to my stock 47 Plymouth P15? Thanks, FG.
  7. I just bought those parts for my '47. Neil Riddle has them... FG.
  8. That my friend depends on the definition. My definiton for the body and paint work is around 2-4k. That is what I mean, and definitely not cheap. Cheap to me would be 600.00 and below. On the high level, I'd consider an expensive paint job to be 6k-15k. Again, definition... FG.
  9. Folks, Does anyone know a good/economical paint/body guy in the Los Angeles Area? Thanks, FG.
  10. Gents, I'm really happy that this thread has taken off. Let's meet in a couple of weeks, perhaps late August, the 27th perhaps at Bob's Big Boy in Burbank. If you're in the area and you're up for meeting, please let me know. I hope that my P15 will be ready by then. I needed to get the transmission boot and seals today. It should be fine hopefully. If not, it would be a pleasure to meet you folks. Jon
  11. Bob, As always, you are a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you very much. I hope someday I'll get to meet you and your beautiful car. Cheers, Jon
  12. Folks, Does anyone know if the trunk handle and mechanism from a 48 D24 is the same as a 47 P15 and if they would work? Thanks, FG.
  13. How does Bob's Big Boy in Burbank on a Friday night? Jon
  14. Hello Folks, I'm back from getting married and now I am ready to get back to the real world doing things again. I am great with meeting up with the Golden State folks in fact I look forward to it. I would, however prefer to meet up with Socal folks in late August before we go on out to Santa Maria that way I can become familiar with you folks. And not only that but meet people, share a meal and of course an appreciation for cars. I saw that someone earlier indicated that they would be up for that. I'd like to get buy in/consensus by end of this week if possible. Please advise. Regards, Jon
  15. You San Franciscans will appreciate this then. Today, July 30th is the day I'm getting married on Nob Hill next to the Pacific Union Club. We also felt it appropriate to stay in a vintage hotel, The Huntington Hotel (1924) in fact. She's a 2nd generation native, and we decided that we wanted to get married and eventually start our family here. (If we can afford it that is.) I read in the Chron today that the Bay Bridge/Transbay Terminal will be closing next week for the last time to be demolished. They are doing tours today showing the old diner, the state police office, the original bar, shoe shine stand and other pieces. We both love The City, partially hate what it has become but still love the place we will always call home. Yes, we do indeed need to get together and circle the cars, drink beer and tell stories of the way SF used to be. FG.
  16. Niles like in Fremont? I had my first place there.
  17. Folks, I've been curious at how many Northern and Southern Californians we have on P15-D24. In another thread we've spoken about in September getting together and throwing a caravan to the Golden State Plymouth Owners meeting. Before, then if anyone would like to meet up, please let me know. However, I'd like to start this thread so that we know of other folks in our areas. I'm rather tired of going to events, seeing one MoPar in Socal and the rest are Ford and Chevy. So, I'll start. Jon AKA FedoraGent, 1947 Plymouth Club Coupe, Special Deluxe Pasadena, CA FG.
  18. Sounds swell as a bell for me. Please do let us know when the date is. I'm going to start a Californian Thread on here to see how many of us there are in Norcal and SoCal. It would be great to setup a dialog at least. Thanks, FG.
  19. Folks, I measured today the length between the exhaust and the fuel line. It is 10 inches away. I'm good there. And the wires are 7 inches away from the exhaust so I think I should be good there as well. FG.
  20. Don, I too am a San Franciscan. 2nd Generation. I call The City my home. We Socalers and Norcalers should get together around the middle of next month if you folks are available. My P15 should be up and on the road by then. My first run will be from Pasadena to Highland and then back. I figure that should be a good short term test. FG.
  21. Is anyone using the Battery Brain? I'm thinking about trying it. FG.
  22. I sent the email. BTW, with all those changes, how is the stability and reliability of the engine after all the mods? Thanks, FG.
  23. I just noticed my original posting didn't take. All I have to say is wow. 800 miles. How did it fair on the Grapevine and Altamont pass going up and down? FG.
  24. Folks, I'd like to meet up sometime with some of the Socal guys and Norcal guys. I live predominately in LA now but will be doing a shakedown around Socal and then to Norcal. I will be doing my shakedown in August and would love to meet other MoPar people. Please let me know if any of you would be interested. It sounds like everything is going well for your car. I hope that I will have just as much success. FG.
