  1. As David said...all depends on the person. I believe I did: cab doors grill fenders inner fenders hood bed running boards rear fenders tailgate And yah, I finished the door assy (windows etc) after hanging them
  2. I guess my question is why?
  3. now if they would just do a B3 model....in red, in a one ton, with a 9' black box.....
  4. yah, cab should sit "parallel" to the frame (with the larger tollerances of the day). I'll try to get some pics of that area on FEF later today.
  5. There should be plenty of room up there, nothing should be rubbing. Spacing the cab up/checking the front to back loaction of the cab should clear up any issues.
  6. That pivot point is forward of the toe boards and should not be any issue.
  7. Bed can go last and can be built off the truck and set in place with help/lifting device.
  8. Have you checked with VPW, DCM or Roberts?
  9. as long as my limo picks me up on time I'll be ready to go!
  10. Please take offers of parts for sale to PM. Open trading not allowed on the forums.
  11. tip linkage parts all in....now time for fabrication...
  12. MAP gas at a miniumum, propane just won't be hot enough.
  13. hockey pucks cut to size have been used for that.
  14. At work when testing gensets at full power, I've seen them burn off the paint and glow! And seeing it on a 95l engine where these are BIG turbos it is...interesting.
  15. Too cool of an engine can be as much of an issue in my mind as too hot. If it doesn't warm up, it can affect the combustion efficiency in a negative manner and you might get lower fuel efficiency and or incomplete combusion (read backfire). It can also affect oil viscoisty in a negative manner and you might not be getting the right lubrication on surfaces. Also, not drive out moisture, this can lead to chemical compunds forming that are not good (acids).
  16. Inlet side always hot, outlet is cast aluminum so it's oxidized the paint off.
  17. I'm still learning. One technique is temp cotrol of the panel and go slow, then grind and hammer and dolly and repeat. I only do 2-3 spots per sticth area and then grind/h&d before welding again.
  18. Passenger side door lower cancer repaired. And of course my air compressor pressure switch took a dump again...another switch on order to see if the motor is driving the over amp on the switch causing the wire melt.
  19. Be care where you whack...it's all sheet metal mounted and you can easily just flex the sheetmetal and not the hinge. You can take the lower hinge (cab side) off and bend in a vice or other method.
  20. Spent my orbit day (post work) pulling the turbo off so I can build in the tip linkage. Removing the turbo is quite the job...the back two nuts/studs are SOOO easy to pop free....HA! I will be flipping the exhaust manifold to have the turbo point UP vs. the stock down to get the waste gate actuator out of my way. Flipping the manifold is luckily a thing that is easy to do and won't cost me for a new/custom manifold.
  21. as promised. higher rez available if you go this route....only bad thing is the Idiots Out Wandering Around plate....
  22. I'll have it for you tomorrow AM....what, the orignal on FEF isn't "character enough"?
  23. there is always this: or this (I can take a pic of any of them):
  24. As an aside, my brother was PISSED I drove 30' straight into an alfalfa field and backed straight out. No worse than his own kid did with tractors and his beater...
  25. That shiney spot is ME! Hard not to be reflected on a shiney black paint job!
