  1. Merle, Are both your trucks either 48-50 or 51-53? The 48-50 wipers are centered under each windshield and the 51-53's are farther apart. Possible only a linkage arm length difference. I've had a few old trucks that were equipped with a vacuum storage cannister that helped the wipers work better while pulling a hill. If I had my druthers I'd go with the elec. ones though.
  2. I like the way you think !!!!
  3. Your PM box is blocked. email me at regoevans at sbcglobal.net
  4. I bought a couple of good used latches from Neil Riddle (seaplym on eBay) for my 49 Suburban. Haven't tried them yet but they look good. They weren't listed on the bay. I just emailed him and he had some available.
  5. Thanks for the plug Greg! They are wide whitewalls....750x16 radials from Diamondback....only a couple hundred miles on them. They still have some of the rubber mold strings on the outside. They are over 31.5 " tall for low rpm's
  6. I purchased 4 of these radials last year From Diamondback Tires http://www.dbtires.com for my 42 Dodge coupe and have decided that they are just too tall for the front. They measure a bit more than 31.5" tall with 6" tread width. Diamondback is selling a pair of these radials for $438 each + Shipping. I'll sell the pair for $300 o.b.o. + actual shipping. That's ~30% less than you can get them for. They only have about 200 miles on them.
  7. Langdons headers are solid 1 piece of cast iron very well made. Nothing like that one you posted Don. I recently installed a set on my 42 Coupe and they fit perfectly. They are smooth on the back side too. I'll be buying more in the future.
  8. Hey...sure enough Ed. Looks just the same. Hows $75 + the license plate bracket sound? That's about 1/3 the cost of Rhode Island I think.
  9. Ed, The box it's in has 40 Dodge written on it faintly. The box was shipped to Harrys Garage in Kansas City in 1943. The box has the old factory DCPD logo on it. After looking at it again I'm not really sure what year it's for but it's pre war. I'm thinking it might be pre sealed beams too. Here's a photo of the harness and another close up of the headlignt wires.
  10. Well....that splains why I saved this auction and refer to it several times a day. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VINTAGE-BORG-DASH-CLOCK-DODGE-CHRYSLER-PLYMOUTH-DeSOTO_W0QQitemZ230218747078QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item230218747078
  11. Sam, What year is your truck? I have a NOS harness for a 1940 that I'm not going to use. 50 cents on the Rhode Island Wiring dollar. Reg
  12. Ed, Any luck yet on that bracket?
  13. Greg, I have several sets. Usually 3 or 5 in a set. Are you wanting to use the old type or will chromed plastic do?
  14. I wondered about that too.
  15. Here's one for you east coast guys. Connecticut http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=110219710208&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=001
  16. Last week there was a similar auction for a beautifull restored 35 Dodge Sedan. Buy it now for $5900. A few hours after I had asked some questions of the seller the auction had been removed from ebay. A day later I got this response from the seller. I'm really sorry for this late reply but I've been very busy lately and away from a computer. The car is located in Longmont CO. It has all the papers(complete). This was my father's car who passed away 4 months ago, it only brings me bad memories. I want this transaction to be smooth as I am caught in the middle of some very important events and I don't have much time at my disposal. The car is in perfect condition, no scratches, no special marks, no need for additional repairs what so ever, no leaks, rust free. A great car ready to be yours. It has a clear title. The price is $5,900 including shipping costs anywhere in the continental US. I require a deposit for $2,950 before the car is delivered. There are no other costs regarding this transaction. Regarding payment I am aware of the eBay's rules and we will use Vehicle Purchase Protection Program which will hold the payment until you receive the car. If you are interested please provide me the following informations necessary to take a decision: -your full name -your eBay ID -any negative feedback and if so .... for what reason . If I receive the requested information you will be informed by eBay during the next hours with details about your purchase. Thank you, Frank Osgood. Does this stink like a scam or what?
  17. YES ! Lisa and I will be there.
  18. No difference Dan. Just be careful of the extra G forces upon acceleration
  19. That a 230 out of a 55 Dodge Coronet. Rated at 123 hp at 3600 rpm.
  20. Here's some on the bay now,. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DODGE-FARGO-TRUCK-PARKING-LAMP-BASES-L-R-1951-53_W0QQitemZ110215471586QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item110215471586
  21. I've been using this type for a while now and love it. Works on 2 D size batteries and simply clamps over #1 plug wire while the engine is running. No need to pull #1 plug wire. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Timing-Light-SBC-Chevy-350-Ford-IMCA-Chevelle-Mustang_W0QQitemZ300189740028QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item300189740028
  22. Lately I've been using my pneumatic impact gun with the puller. It works great without all the heavy hammering.
  23. Yup........red x
  24. I've pulled al lot of wheels with one just like that. The plastic box gave up but the puller is still working fine.
