  1. sorry, that just sounds bad.
  2. are these backup light switches in the tranny on the pilothouse trucks, too?
  3. i am just "patching up" my truck, and once it is done, it will be a work truck for me, so i am wondering, what is the best choice for doing the bed? it needs to be sturdy, and i would rather no add more crossmembers, so what other options are there?
  4. or some dude with a lawnmower on the train tracks...
  5. are you by any chance they one who contacted me for info? i still havent tried my swap out yet, kinda curious whether it can still be a good work truck.
  6. could this work? http://www.youtube.com/youtubeonyoursite
  7. im not sure, but maybe this is what we are looking for. i am not sure about the whole bandwidth thing, though. http://www.youtube.com/youtubeonyoursite
  8. wee-wee!
  9. have a link put on the home page, maybe?
  10. makes sense. could we make a specific youtube account for these things?
  11. kinda, but a database specifically for videos. sort of a youtube that is actually useful and has information for the old chrysler products.
  12. who says kids dont do models anymore? or maybe im just wierd...
  13. ok, i am pretty sure there has got to be a better place for this, like a suggestion box or something, but this has to work because i dont know about anything like that. i am kinda suggesting we make a suggestion area for the whole forum site, and maybe a video archive for technical things, like walk-thrus on adjustments and other procedures that we new guys dont know yet. it is rather difficult to work from descriptions most of the time, i myself generally dont get the instructions, so this type of thing would be quite useful. what are everybody's thoughts? i am also posting this on the truck side to see what they think.

  15. wow! the lighting really does it. the only thing that gives it away is the huge guy in some of the pictures (or small cars) and the fact that the tires dont sag in the pics! very neat!
  16. what is a good price for a muffler anyways? all we have around here are the $30 ones.
  17. it may seem like i should wait, but i think i ought to to prevent the neighbors from reporting me, so i am investigating the exhaust system. it is gone from where the muffler was, but the rest is fine.i want something that sounds kinda mean, but still deadens the sound a bit so the radio has a chance to do something. was thinking about tractor muffler, or glass pack. what do you guys think?
  18. i noticed that, the whole motor is back together and running, but could not for the life of me trace it back to anything.
  19. i was replacing a valve, of course the carb came off. new gaskets. i noticed these slots in the gaskets and wondered what they do? sorry, i borrowed somebody's picture, but thanks.
  20. my intent is to break em free where it sits, swap the wheels, and pull it down the road to the barn. no trailer Involved, and it has to turn around a full 180 to get out of the woods, too much terrain to just back out. what we did on my 53' is, we just jacked it up one wheel at a time, wrapped a tow strap around the wheel, and jerk them with an ATV. what do the adjusters look like, anyways? im kinda afraid to stick my head under anything.
  21. do the shorter engines mount up differently? these "floating power" mounts dont seem moveable, and it still uses those and everything bolts up
  22. i dunno, im too lazy to drive the 250 miles to get back up there. are there any defining features that can be seen externally
  23. so they are straight from the factory? excellent.
  24. all i know is that the serial # plate on the side of the motor says "p18" and a bunch of other numbers, so it may be a coincidence. i did notice the fan was about 2.5" from the radiator, so that may or may not be normal. what are those nubs on the pulley for, anyways? could a metric socket by chance fit better on there?
