  1. if you are interested in replacing the entire shackle, jeep shackles worked well for me. they are a little shorter, but they work.
  2. good deal!
  3. i found it in the trash, and it just has plastic.
  4. ok, i was digging around in the shop earlier and found some "platinum gassaver" i know it doesnt work, but is there anything useful to do with the piece of crap?
  5. mine WAS a 45 before somebody stole it
  6. ditto.
  7. if you look at some of the dodge pickups at the salvage yards, they occasionally have 4.5" with similar looking rims that run modern sizes.
  8. hello all, i installed a 66' mustang radiator in my truck and to make it fit, it had to sit lower than the original, making it lower than the heater core. would it be advisable to add an overflow tank and how would i do it?
  9. if you remove the ignition switch and bring it to a locksmith, they can usually make a new key to fit it. i had to do it for my truck and it cost $15 for the first key, the rest were $1.50
  10. i think they are hard to piss off, because a friend of mine left them a "present" due to the lack of toilets in the woods, and they enjoyed it. besides, i could light them on fire with old oil. sounds like fun to me.
  11. they are not in use yet, but the set we found was for a 5000 pound trailer if i remember right, and they seem better built than stock. they are made for either surge (hydraulic) brakes or electric.
  12. i use irfanview or MS picture manager
  13. the sleeves are done, and they indeed DO fit like a glove, as does the drums. if anybody's interested, send me an e-mail and i will make a drawing. dunce781@gmail.com
  14. would it be a better idea to use the blade on the tractor to flatten them? BTW- that looks kinda like my uncle!
  15. not totally sure, but i know pilothouse 10" drums are interchangeable with the 10" trailer drums from northern tool. they work for the front and are $100/pair. they might work for your fronts, too.
  16. i wonder how much horsepower he has?
  17. thanks! i'l need all the luck i can get! and it will be dragged on grass and gravel, and i know who runs the local grader, so i should be ok there. there are no stumps or rocks in the way, just large anthills
  18. to answer your question, merle, i am in the very southeast corner of the state, about a mile off the lake
  19. its sad. some dude from texas tried to convince me that he wanted the ugliest, beat up, P.O.S. snowblower in history shipped from here in wisconsin to houston texas! how obvious is that? and i think the thieves need something drastically done after being caught once, like take off an appendage of the thief's choosing for each time they try it!
  20. thanks, but neither one had it for a better price
  21. BTW-anybody have any ideas for places to get brake shoes besides bernbaums?
  22. ok, so i am working on this 41' dodge truck in the woods, as i have been for the last couple years, and NOTHING on the truck has moved but the doors for the last 30 years. i pulled the head to see how badly the cylinders were rusted (not very bad) and while i was at it, i dumped some 2-stroke oil in the cylinders in hopes it would help free it up. i checked the engine oil on the dipstick, and it looked like the normal 30-year-old oil looks, kind of brown and dirty. i came back about a month later to check on it and pull the head again to dump in some better lube, and checked the oil to see if any 2-stroke oil made it that far, but there was some milky white fluid towards the bottom that wasn't there before. it would make no sense to be water or antifreeze because neither mix with oil when just sitting and they would have just settled to the bottom. what could it be? the 2-stroke oil was blue, and the crankcase oil was still the same brown sitting on top. keep in mind, the motor was stuck, so nothing could have mixed.
  23. could also be something that got into the motor somehow, like the screw-on nuts on old spark plugs
  24. not sure if thats the correct spelling, but its close, and i have never seen a snake around this thing, but i do have to watch out for the randomly assorted turds
  25. thats the other thing, im not sure its worth hauling a trailer the 250 miles up to niellsville just so i could haul it to my property 1/4 mile up the road. if i put on a decent set of wheels, could i just tow it back to the property?
