  1. I use Photobucket and usually resize to about 640X480 as well. Not too small and not too big for those on dial-up. The original remains on my computer at full size for other uses. Also, having pics on Photobucket allows me to easily send or post the pics elewhere as well, not just here. I have found that the $25 bucks a year is a great value for me.
  2. It seems to me that the M6 gets it's power from the coil. I'm pretty sure most or all coils are actually six volt, even on a 12 volt system. For me, the unknown is the switch from +ground to -ground. Will the governor and solenoid still operate like they are supposed to? It shouldn't make a difference but I haven't got that far on mine yet...not even close.
  3. Nice pics, does this place have a name for us close by??? Thanks!!! I lightened up the pics a bit for you...hope you don't mind.
  4. I just purchased a shop manual and a parts manual for my 1946 Fargo FL7 3 ton from Ken McGee in Ontario. If he doesn't have one (unlikely), they'll find you one. http://www.kenmcgeeautobooks.com/
  5. Way too many projects and no room and I'm laid up for a while longer anyway. Can't work on what I have, and it's too new for me
  6. Price Reduced To $300!!!!!
  7. A B.C. man has been charged with defrauding victims in the United States using bank accounts held in Calgary. The charges result from a two-year investigation by the Calgary police and RCMP into a series of internet frauds where people were duped into paying for vintage automobiles that were never delivered. Kurtis Eugene Pomerleau of Kelowna, B.C., was arrested and charged last week with two counts of fraud over $5,000 and two counts of theft over $5,000, Calgary police said Wednesday. 'This is becoming more and more common and unfortunately because of the international elements involved, these can be very difficult and very time-consuming to investigate.'—Const. Dean Nichol, Calgary police commercial crime unit Const. Dean Nichol of the Calgary force's commercial crime unit said two victims in the U.S. were defrauded of about $100,000 through the scheme that used auction website eBay. One victim in Arizona tried to buy a 1930s-edition Ford in 2004, while another in California wired money in 2005 believing it was for the purchase of a '60s-vintage Corvette. They were asked to wire transfer their money to business bank accounts in Calgary where the suspect once lived, said Nichol. The money was then directed elsewhere. "This is becoming more and more common and unfortunately because of the international elements involved, these can be very difficult and very time-consuming to investigate," Nichol told CBC News. He said Pomerleau, who is free on bail, is before the courts in Kelowna for other unrelated charges of internet fraud skimming from May 2007. Nichol advised that consumers never use a wire transfer to send money in an internet transaction. He said the best protection is to use an independent third-party payment service, such as PayPal, when possible. "That way you can complete the sale and you can ensure that what you're purchasing either exists or is the item you're actually purchasing," he said http://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columbia/story/2008/08/06/calgary-kelowna-internet-fraud.html#socialcomments
  8. I used one from a wreckers years ago on my '50 Dodge. It was from a 75ish Chevy:eek: Malibu...worked fine. I think it was $10.
  9. This may help: http://www.imperialclub.com/Repair/Lit/Master/005/index.htm
  10. Doesn't seem these doors stayed shut on a rollover: No-one survived this one...4 fatalities...belts may have made a difference?
  11. How about the Felpro label with all the info for the 25 inch long block I bought for my 251.
  12. Tim, why do you find it necessary to carry? An incident in the past or just to be safe? Have you ever needed to use it or get ready to use? The gangs are starting to get violent up here, something we aren't used to. Mostly they target their own but sooner or later someone will be caught in the crossfire. Calgary is over a million now and that's Calgary proper, not including the outer bedroom communities and the booming times here mean there's a bunch of cash floating around...I never see any, but it's here.
  13. I have a cousin who formerly worked as an undercover officer and even almost 20 yrs later, he has a permit to carry because of the people he put away. Never goes anywhere without it. Fred, you guys have a hell of a job to do and I for one appreciate it alot. It's a different world behind those walls.
  14. More details on truck frames than most need to know, but very interesting nonetheless: http://trailer-bodybuilders.com/mag/trucks_tips_truck_frames/
  15. I ordered a cap and rotor for the 46 Fargo Saturday from my local Ma and Pa parts store. The fellow behind the counter asked me for the number from the distributor tag. Said there were at least two kinds and if he had the number, he could have me the parts next day(Sunday). Fine because I'm movin very slow anyway. The number he needed was this one: IGS 4202BL with the "IGS" part the key. For this dist, the cap is #AL96 and the rotor is #AL98. I'll post the maker to match to the part # when I pick up the parts. UPDATE: These above part numbers are Standard Motor Products part numbers and the parts fit the mentioned distributor perfectly. So, if you can get the number from your particular distributor, you should be able to track down the correct cap, rotor, points and condenser. http://www.bownessauto.com/ ask for Roy (he's the guy in the pic on the right) He knows his stuff, old and new.
  16. Love the pics, Robert. I see by the flags on top of the elevator that the Lethbridge area winds are keeping true to form. My 49 Chrysler spent 30+ yrs there on the south side of a barn...baking As for the old tractors and such, the Irricana Pioneer Acres show is on this coming weekend again and I'll be there with bells on. They put on a great show...and everything runs!!!. http://www.pioneeracres.ab.ca/annualshow.aspx
  17. I think that's part of the answer. Dozens of years of appeals makes victims rights seem an afterthought. One thing that makes me worry is the large number of people being exonerated via DNA. I want the guilty punished, but I want to be damn sure we got the right guy. Our system seems to be unable to reliably deliver on that small detail:(
  18. Does anyone have a copy of a wiring diagram for the '46 Dodge/Fargo big trucks? I'm just going to replace one wire at a time here but a diagram would be nice to get the colors correct. The fabric has faded and disintegrated so much the color is not there anymore. Thanks Pat
  19. A friend of mine sprayed his '62 Chevy Biscayne with Tremclad rust paint several years ago. White roof and light blue body similar to original. The paint did oxidize fairly quickly with a chalky film, but a coat of turtle wax brought it back to like new. The more coats of wax, the longer it took to oxidize. The paint job stayed presentable for the 10+ years he owned the car which was in the early 80's to mid 90's.
  20. I would be looking at the flex hose going to the rear end, then for a kinked line going to the rear end, not allowing the fluid to return to the master properly.
  21. Happy to hear it's on it's own 4 feet and gonna be swattin some bugs soon!!!
  22. I certainly wasn't criticizing the car...it's a beauty, and it doesn't bother me that it has an automatic, I just thought that it was well done and the column shift was well camouflaged. I would have it in my garage in a second and not change anything.
  23. That's a beauty. There is something about the steering column which gives away a secret about the car. A very well done job and it's killing bugs like it should!
  24. After some emails and some phone calls, turns out Vintage Power Wagons has them on the shelf ready to go for $108. You can't hardly buy a master cylinder for a modern truck or car for that so I'm very happy. This master cylinder has 3 mounting bolts so is a bit of an oddball. Thanks for all the suggestions, I used them all and checked everywhere. I thought the truck was too big for VPW but some of the big troop carriers they supply parts for have the same chassis. Pat
  25. Posted on the Local Kijiji site today. Seems decent except for the rear quarter and trunk...but...it's a two door. Price is right. $950 complete with cinderblock Ebrake:eek: http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1954-Dodge-Regent-W0QQAdIdZ65068556
