  1. I never have my camera with me, They look nice
  2. Went down into Husker Country today and saw Kevin Anderson's 48(?) 4 door Plymouth. He really needs to post some pictures. Great looking car, fully optioned!! He has dual carbs and split exhaust, original paint and the metal white wall thing-a-ma-jobs. Very clean original car, low miles, Kevin Thanks for the engine, I saved you from ever trying to squeeze it into that Plymouth. Eric
  3. You know it has character. I like it. It won't be some trailer queen and people just might be scared to park too close it. Eric
  4. Keep them coming, nice pics. It would be cool if you can remake a few of the photos with your new car. Eric
  5. They look like the Ford ones 1948-52. I have a 49 pickup and they were gone when I got it. I had a heck of time finding a pair. With all of the MustangII fronts being put on I thought there would be plenty. Eric
  6. Dennis nice link. Amazing the cars are still out there. There is one in South Dakota, I will have to keep my eyes on the want ads. Now why does the Smithsonian have one but it isn't displayed? Eric
  7. That picture is so old, the rip in the sky hadn't even been fixed yet. Nice pic, No color yet? Simplier times, everything was black and white. Eric I 2nd Don's motion, lets see it today.
  8. Rodney, they had a good writeup in Hemmings about this place. Nice pics thanks. Eric
  9. Kevin, I read it and responded. Thanks, Eric
  10. Fred, it looks good. Can you loan out those stepchildren? Do they have red hair? . Joking aside I think your job looks gret. Eric
  11. Donald, Congrats. It is a great feeling getting the first radio going. Ten years ago I bought a little metal Hallicrafter Shortwave radio at a garage sale and when I researched how much someone wanted to repair it. I decided to buy a book and give it a shot. 100's of radios later it still is fun, of course there has been a few that never did work!! Car radios can be the hardest to work on because of the tight space and the vibrator. Nostalgia Air is a great place. Again, Congrats on the fortitude. Eric
  12. Rodney, you said head but you meant heads? I am assuming your Studie is a V8? How far are you going with that engine? Eric
  13. Pete, do you have to register? Will the government know? ?(kidding that part) Eric
  14. Very nice , I see a car reflected in one of the shots, a sport's car? How much of the interior is original? I like the cars to be pretty close to original. not a hot rodder. Not a purist either. Eric
  15. "I have met the enemy and he is us" Pogo. Eric
  16. Thank you Tim. Bullwinkle was great, as a kid I was always surprised that my dad would watch it with us. He didn't watch any other cartoons. We were at a family gathering at a lodge in Minnesota a few years back and they hired young men and women from all over the world. My brother asked our Russian waitress to say "Moose and Squirrel". Her accent was great. She wouldn't comply!! Eric
  17. That's funny Rodney, I always liked the Bullwinkle Show. What was the turtle's name? "Trizzle trazzle drone time for this one to come home" help Mr. Wizard I don't want to be a cop". Glad you had a good time at the picnic. Eric
  18. Kevin, no North of here, I am hesitant to name the town because I don't know what his attitude is towards people knowing what he has. He must sell some of the items because he said a guy had contacted him about some NOS Buick tailights, 1957. The guy got upset when Terry told him $100.00 each. The guy said he could get those anywhere and Terry told him go ahead then, "why call me". It is amazing the NOS stuff. Most very well organized. Parts books dating back to the 1920s. Hub Caps, wire wheels. NOS body parts from the 50s. One quick look at my Rivvy and he nicely told what wasn't correct on it. Mine is missing the fan shroud, of course he has NOS ones. I am lucky, I think with his help I can straighten the car. Never be a show car but I was amazed with its power and handling. There sure is a difference in parts. The busted water pump I pulled off really was crappy compared to the NOS. The blade had only thress under sized blades while the right one had four beefierones. You know it has to be able to move more water. Kevin if you are interested in Buick Parts I'll ask him. I don't think he tries very hard to sell anything. Eric
  19. I did everything wrong, I bought a 64 Riviera, Against someone's better judgement(I don't have any obviously) I trusted the seller. I drove it some 700 miles, got within 35 miles from home when a terrible grinding noise occured. Up to that point I was doing great. It is midnight out on the open road. My cell phone of course is dead. I flagged down a driver who gave me a ride to my front door. I offered him some money he refused it. (Was he an illegal? I would give him citizenship right now). Well I had no idea how bad the car was. It was dark and there was a cloud of steam from the radiator. I had met a few times at country auctions an older gentleman who talked about Buicks. I knew he lived somewhere in the area and that he was a mechanic. After a few phone calls I reached someone who knew who he was and where he was. I called him and told him what happened. He said he would tow it to his shop so it wouldn't be vandalized. I waited a whole week to go up and see what the hell I was into. He wasn't around but I looked at the car and the fan had broken from the water pump housing and had gone into the radiator. Hoping that was all. I came back the next day with some wrenches to pull the water pump. He came out watched me for a few seconds and came back with a NOS water pump. He said "here this will help you to know what bolts have to come out". I pulled it and he showed me how to pull the pulley from the pump. He looked at the radiator and said it was "toast". I asked him where I could find another. He just pointed back to his shop. His shop is filled with NOS and used Buick parts. He started 35 years ago traveling thye midwest buying out stock. He has atleast a dozen "nailheads" on rolling racks. He said the fan blade was bad too, he went to a pile of fans and handed me another. He has a Rivvy on a lift that is almost done. It looks like the day it came out of the factory. Even the fan belt numbers line up. He as a yard full of Buick he said besides the ones in his shop. I would say I was unlucky but unsmart is closer to it. I was very luck to have met him. Thursday I will install the radiator, and yes he even has the rubber peices that sit under the radiator. His shop is filled from floor to ceiling with old oil cans. A very cool place. He had to run to the parts store, He was rebuilding a low boy's (semi-trailer) suspension. He just told me to look around and help myself to any tool I might need. Eric
  20. Happy 4th to all . Some good advice from Tim, drinking and driving. Don't blow your fingers off. Don't eat at a place called "Mom's". We can all fly the Flag, hell in this country we can burn it if we want. That's what it stands for. "Live Free or Die" (don't take that too far having fun.) Eric
  21. Fred, sorry to hear about your friend. The hiways are more dangerous than prison? I tip my hat to you and your fellow correctional officers. I would take my chances on the open hiway. Eric
  22. They don't really get too specific do they? "moderate speeds" for the "first few hundred miles". So what is the button for? Trunk Monkey? I would check the trunk for a skeleton, he might have run off when he saw the tomato cages. Cool car. Eric
  23. Rodney, I think I saw an article on this place. Sounds fantastic. He has spare engines and three complete cars plus a ton of documents and plans from the company. I wish I was closer. Eric
  24. Hey that trunk monkey was really funny. Personally I do not like monkeys but very funny!. Eric
  25. Now if they only had some auto repair videos, I think I could learn anything. I know my concentration was quite good throughout. Eric
