I got mine in 73. Don't know what happened to it. The year before was the last draft. Few were taken but had an older friend who was called up. Our Dad was Pro War but then in the next breath said you better get good grades or you'll be over there. Never could get my head around that. Only 3 channels and everyone had the same news sources. You didn't have to like them but you could argue with the same facts Lies?). Now it seems people watch shows that tell them only what they want to hear both Left and Right. Change is the only thing that remains the same. Eric
Norm, your engine looks great. Never seen a yellow engine, Tim. The silver reminds me of the old silver paint (probably loaded with lead) that my Grandfather used it on everything metal, railings, milboxes, you name it. If it was outside he used that silver. It sure held up well. Eric
I see a lot of blue on the engines, Don's and others and then a lot of silver. Both like good. I was just curious what the blue color is from? Is silver the original color and was the blue on some Chryslers? Mine has a nice rust patina . If I remove it , won't I lose a lot of value? (seen that on "Roadshow". Eric
His last activity here was back in May. I tried e-mailing him a month or so ago. He was in Minden, Nebraska for a Teardrop Rally? I owe him for a battery frame and nothing eats at ya more than owing money. Eric
My stepfather liked to go fishing way up in Northern Canada,"Lake Sobourne",(sp?). He was a big fan of Sushi so he decided Northern would make great Sushi. I declined. One of his friends who had came along ,about a year later had these long worms coming out of his rectum. He thought he was doing great losing weight. He thought he was going to die. He thought his guts were coming out!! The cure was easy. Moose Fluke Worm!! I will take my fish fried!! Eric
Jim, I will have the king pins done. I would guess they are pretty good. The car drove nice and straight and didn't wander even with the bias tires. Eric
Pat, you are right, heck they seem fine, no wobble that I can tell. I wouldn't mess with them myself. I would find a machine shop? I just don't want to booger anything up at this point!! Eric
Sure did Norm, I have a box marked "Rt" and one marked "Left". I even have a yellow crayon to mark drums etc. Pretty organized for me. I was thinking about getting new rubber bushings since I am already there. I could not have gotten this far without the forum. Then again without the Forum would I have gotten myself into this mess!! Eric
I got one spindle off. I had to go get a 3' peice of pipe for presuassion. One more to go. I hope I can leave the king pin in and send them off as they are!!
At one point I tried to convince myself that a disc conversion set that required me to change rims and tires wouldn't be all bad I am hoping the other isn't worse than this. ERic
Ebay isn't really like a live auction. It ends at a specific time, not when the bidding ends. I have gone to live auctions everyweekend almost for 10 years.
There are plenty of sneaky low-lifes at the live auctions. The auctioneers and bidders are not real honest. I have had people ask me not to bid on something they wanted and they would reciprocate. They then have someone else bid on it for them. The word gets out on people like that. The auctioneers will pull bids out of thin air. The same rules apply to live auctions and to EBAY. Nowhere you will stop.
I know people who sell things on EBAY and have asked me if we would like them to bid an item of ours up. I say definitely not unless they want to own it. I know sellers who will throw fragile items in a box knowingly poorly pack it because they insured it. Things catch up with them. We have 3500+ all positive in 8 years. That isn't easy because of a few nuts you run into.
I haven't really bought many car items, nor do I sell any. I don't know enough about it!!
Jim Saraceno's 1935 Plymouth appears in the new issue of Hemming's Classic Car. pg. 27 Great issue , the focus is on Plymouths. A few P15s and some others that should be of interest to this group. Eric
Norm, Thanks. The expolded view with the parts numbered sure is nice. My Plymouth Service Manual is not numbered. Thanks to all, I hope I am under way. Eric
