  1. Norm, I have one of those small floor jacks. I think I paid $1 for it. It also slowly comes down after an hour or two!! It is good to get something in the air but jack stands are a must. Ed's unit is what would be great to have. Can a man have a big enough garage? Eric
  2. WOW!! I like the horizontal bars in the grill and the split tailgate. I wish the owner was my "Dutch Uncle", whatever the heck that means!! We have a Tulip festival north of us here. That is one beautiful car. I can't even guess the time it took to get that car so nice. Eric
  3. Gregg, you actually saved that fender, the one in the 2nd photo? Amazing . Eric
  4. There certainly were a large number of woodie Chryslers there. I have never seen one up close. Eric
  5. Some great cars. Especially like the Desoto Suburban? http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h254/mac2026/WPC%2007/P7210269.jpg Eric
  6. It was Hiway 8. One off can that make a difference? Eric
  7. Ed, Is that Hiway 9 that is just north of the Cities that crosses over into Wisconsin? That is a pretty cruise through there. A few miles into Wisconsin, I remember seeing an antique store with a lot of old trucks. I wish I had the time to stop and check them out. Eric
  8. Four Door. He said the engine had been rebuilt and was from a later car 55? I was just driving across town when I saw it in his driveway. he had a hot rod also. It was standard, purple, sbc, etc. Those things don't do much for me. I ran into a guy a few years back who had some real nice hot rods, vintage, built in the 50s. I liked the ingenuity they had. Inside the car for trim he had used the chrome name plates from an "Eltrolux" vacuum cleaner! I think the engine was an old nailhead. I understand the convenience with the sbc's and the off the shelf ease of building but just not the same deal. That is probably why I like the Mopars here, unique and can be altered to anyone's own taste. Eric
  9. Cool!! So how fast has the Dodge gone? Just watching the cars there would be fun. Eric
  10. Greg, thanks. I saw some blank keys on there. I have looked around town to get copies made of mine and have no luck. AQre they hard to find or am I just looking in the wrong places? Eric
  11. I also have to member to make sure the batteries are good too. No one missed much with this car. It would be a nice beast to drive around maybe. Eric
  12. Looks like a good time was had by all. I sure like the wagon. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v65/DonCoatney/Don%20Coatney/Coatney%20Party/cp10.jpg"> Eric
  13. Steve, Thanks. Looks good. Your daughter looks rready to go for a ride. The price on the belts seems like a great price. I will get to mine. I am in a holding pattern waiting for brake parts. Eric
  14. I will try that. Eric
  15. $3500.00 OBO. Bad paint job. Engine/brakes redone. Floors were bad. I could see a lot of sheet metal screws underneath. I have to remember to have my camera with me. Eric
  16. Norm, You have a good point. I noticed when my parents moved to Florida the first 10 years were good for them but as age illness took over they became isolated. Many of their friends there suffered the same. You lose your spouse or are tied down taking care of them and family is a long way off. Maybe the thing to do is move back home again as age becaomes a real factor. There are a lot of Floridians who are moving back North when they become sick or have really slowed down. The little place in Florida that they once enjoyed has become over populated and the pace quite hectic. But SNOW really doesget to ya!! Eric
  17. Greg, as I thought about it more. I really liked the idea where Tenn. is located. You are in decent driving distance 500 miles to all sorts of places. Memphis is so centrally located, St. Louis, New Orleans, Chicago, etc are reasonable drives. I have driven through Tenn. many times, always on my way to Florida. I can't say I have ever gotten off of the main roads but I can say they were in great shape and scenic. Eric One word of warning - - -There is a dangerous fellow in the state with a Blue Hotrod 47.
  18. I liked the older set up. I would pick a make/ model "other" and could limit the year and quickly look at 20-50 cars. Now, atleast with my poor skills I am forced to pick one year(example: 1966). I guess this will keep me out of trouble but it was an easy way to see cars that interested me. Eric
  19. Cool, Ed. I am surprised you ventured into St. Paul. No security at the border? Eric
  20. greg, are you thinking about moving? i am getting close to it, Iowa winters really suck but I can't imagine living in Arizona!! What is Tenn. like in the winter? Eric
  21. Tom, I have never seen that Blog before. They must not want us in the west to know about it. Pretty cool . I liked the convict babes. Eric
  22. That is really cool. I guess I have seen a few pictures of those cars but never a good inside shot. Are these the cars that wereb often Taxis? I think the movie is "Naked City" 1949? That shows New York City streets filled with them. Thanks for the picture. Eric
  23. Don, looking good. Is that a split bench in front? And is that stock? Interesting car. Eric
  24. Don, that is a tough one. I don't do much of the color choosing in this house. Silver is a nice neutral collor but a real light tan or even the brown would be good. Like I said I am the wrong one to pick. Eric
