  1. While at the Glendale City College Swap & Sell, I found a few more Mopars, to share...........
  2. Sunday, I went to the big Glendale City College Swap & Sell Meet. I met this gentleman, Steve, who is selling this nice Dodge Coupe. It has a V-8 engine and that is all I know. His number is 623-866-6775. I do not know him and have no interest or any involvement in this car for sale. The paint is in need of being redone. He has reduced the asking price from $10,500 to $9,500. Charlie Olson, Community Outreach, The Wood Car Company
  3. Are we to assume you are all caught up on your list of Honey Do's; now that you have gone off the deep end and bought something for yourself? Will it be covered in decals, soon?
  4. HHHHHMMMMMMM, interesting to see that the OT content police haven't shown up yet, commenting on the improper usage of this forum. I am guessing they won't like the giggling girls slumber party picture this thread is creating.
  5. I admire your positive attitude and am very happy you were not hurt.
  6. A ruptured gas tank and sparks is not something you can be prepared for, in a situation like this.
  7. The gloves I use are the welding/engineer type with the extension cuff that goes past the wrists and are a size larger than I would use for regular work; in order to get them on really quick. I also put plenty of talc in the gloves for ease of putting them on and taking them off. With vehicles it is my opinion to use dry chemical extinguishers because your biggest concern is fuel and oil fires. You want to rob the fire of Oxygen, so spray over the top of the fire to knock it down. In the pictures, it would be hard to cover burning fuel that is spreading beneath the vehicle. Just remember, car fires can move and spread very quickly, because there is so much flammable material.
  8. Why do some people complain about a thread like this; when all they have to do is not read it. No one is demanding that any one read any thread. 911 affected all of our lives and if car crazy friends can't do a little venting/remembering/sharing; then we have allowed political correctness to trump personal connection.
  9. The Western World will always be fighting the backward world of Islam. There will be brief periods of 'ceasefire', which only allows the enemy to regroup before they attack again. Your grand children and their children may live to see the day when Muslim men no longer believe they own their women.
  10. Being a former Las Vegas City Fireman, I always carry my fire extinguisher, right next to me, no matter what vehicle I am driving. I also have a pair of leather work gloves attached to the extinguisher, with rubber bands. With practice, after a complete stop, I can be gloved up and directing fire retardant within 17 seconds; just like when I was 21 and riding Engine 4, from Station 4, on the tail gate. Never trust a partially charged extinguisher.
  11. Here is another view of that Cobalt Blue 1939 Plymouth Woodie, on Flickr.
  12. Hi Jim, I just received an email from Greg, the owner of the Blue 39 Woodie and the car was featured in The Woodie Times. I sent him an email asking which month and year; I am thinking last year, 2010.
  13. After some more thought, it may have been in the Plymouth Owners Club, THE BULLETIN. Maybe we could check with Lanny and see. It would be a great article for The Woodie Times After a little Google search, I did find a Flickr photo and this short write up about it. 1939 Plymouth Woodie Our car finally finished and at it's first showing at Doheny Wood 2010 in Dana Point, CA. We won best original flat head award to boot! Cool... Quick car bio: My grandfather bought the car new in Dec. 38 and shipped it to the south of France where my family lived (red plate on windshield is the original licence plate from France). WWII broke out and they fled with whatever they could stuff in the car. My grandfather forged diplomatic papers to have the car shipped back to the states. My father started restoration in 2001. We had it professionally finished this past year and it shows! Glad to stop writing those checks! Enjoy! We are! Google: 1939 Plymouth Woodie Flickr I do remember reading a rather extensive article about this blue 39 Plymouth Woodie. Hi Jim - PLYWOOD is in better shape after the wreck and restoration; than it was before the bog ouch. Charlie
  14. Here are the three pics I took of the yellow convertible.
