  1. I used spray adhesive and fiberglass house insulation behind mine, way cheaper. I am not sold on the insulating thing any way, I never drive mine if its below 50 degrees, I don't even have a heater in any of my pilot house trucks. I usally have the windows open for fresh air and as far as engine noise, I love to hear it. My opinion.
  2. I would jump on this if you were in wisconsin. Sorry to hear your decision to let it go. But i can assure you it will go to a good home on this site. Good luck, Todd B
  3. I would rather see donations to GTK to keep this site going. This site has helped all of us many, many times. Thanks for reminding me, I will get some money to GTK ASAP. Todd B
  4. looks great, keep up the hard work.
  5. Do you have any interior pics?
  6. It is amazing what hard work and a very large checkbook can do. I love the before and after of the engine, wow.
  7. Awesome picture
  8. I just got home with the truck. I am starting to believe it may be the batterie. I used my portable jumper and would barely spin it. we had to hook the portable and baterrie jumpers to my wifes car, wait a few minutes and then it finally had enough power to spin and start. When I entered my driveway I tried the light switch and immedietely cut out. You push the light switch in the truck refires and keeps going. I was backing the trailer up to park for winter and it snubbed. I have absolutely nothing now.
  9. I agree with Hank, what goes around, comes around. Just be patient.
  10. I think the anti freeze tag is beyond cool
  11. We took my semi to the local supperclub just 2 miles down the road. we were there for 3 hours and I went to start the truck and it spun 5 times (very unusual) and the batterie was dead. One of the locals jumped me (with a Ford, sorry) and I left idle for another cocktail. we went to leave and as soon as I would pull my light switch the truck would want to cut out. The lights were very dim. I tried to rev high enough to leave the lights on but it keep on wanting to cut out. We bummed a ride home and will retrieve in the morning. I am thinking alternater. The batterie was new this spring. Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance.
  12. Is that extended cab original from dodge?? Very cool
  13. Here is a picture of the semi, I can't find the pictures of the trailer. Both units were taken completely down to the frame. All everything was replaced or repaired if needed. I will try to find more pics someday.
  14. Attached are pictures of how we fixed the headliner.
  15. I ordered a Quiet ride ABS panel set. On the headliner, the sides were sown on backwards. we had to cut it and fabricate the headliner in my shop. I also installed the door panels which after I went on site to contact them about the headliner I noticed that they sent me the wrong year door panels. I called on monday and the lady who answers the phone handled eveything very professional. I asked for new door panels and just made them aware of the person who sown it together had it backwards. I thought everything was fine until the next day when the owner called me and said she would not send me the door panels until I send her the old ones first. I explained I already had them drilled out and installed. I would send them mine once I received the correct ones. It was in the heart of the show season and I did not want to leave my truck without door panels. It was like I started a war with this lady. Her story made a complete 180 degree turn from the quality control to suddenly someone else sows the head liners together. I do believe they have a good product, ok accuracy, great receptionist, terrible customer service. You can hold 2 pieces together and they are not the same, the sowing job is very poor. Although the final product looks nice. Also be very careful with how you clean them, Goof Off is dedinetely not an option.
  16. I found a set of 4 hubcaps. On the back the Part No. is 2201659 I googled it and all I can figure out is that it is a Mopar. Any help would be great.
  17. Moose, I noticed in your picture that you still have the carrage bolts that hold the fender on, In all of the trucks I have redone the body guy gets rid of the bolts because they are usally so rusted out. Looks great, did you have a solid fender to start with?
  18. Merle, I did finish the interior, we had "ISSUES" with the product. It kinda looks great now. I tried to be smart and glue the corner window rubber down so it would not curl up. Well, Don't use Goof Off to remove the excess glue. It took the finish off of the vinyl piece between the windows. I got pissed and thought I would leave until spring to fix. Along with many other items on the "Semi Truck To Do List".
  19. Thank you for the compliments!!!! I must explain. We restored this truck in 2002. It took 14 monthes to get both the truck and trailer done. This project was done with many, many hours after work nights and weekends. My father was a tremendous help and my wife not knowing what the dollar amount "truly" certainly helped. I built it to advertise an amusemnet park we owned and had vinyl stickers all over the truck and trailer. The truck is usally parked inside and the stickers came right of. However, the trailer has been parked outside and the stickers stuck like you would'nt believe. I think I spent more money to get them off than to purchase and put them on. The tractor paint looks great, the trailer may need a pro next spring to buff it or do something. If you look close there is a color issue. I will try and find pictures from when I draged it home. Thanks again. P.S. This is not the truck I just took to paint, that was my first pilot house from 1980. That will be done ???????????
  20. We finally have all the vinyl lettering off the semi trailer. I finished waxing it this morning and took it out on our land for pictures. I tried so hard to get it done with the fall colors and most of my good colored maples and oaks have already lost there leaves. Finished just in time to park it until next year.
  21. I thought I had it right, its obvious that some people think the square fenders of 53' look round???
