  1. I'll go with Jay Leno..he has a gift of gab and slighly long winded...
  2. PM coming your way... PS...Mine was not moved due to brakes etc..mine was moved so to mount the radiator, AC condensor/oil cooler forward of the radiator shell due to big block mopar in bay...
  3. I was wondering if you were going to bid on that.....you got a few nice pieces there..
  4. Now that you mention it Ed, my calipers are bolted to the rear of the wheel...
  5. Even if you are able to get behind the panel with the holes and seal it, it is still not wise or cost effective to shortcut the repair if you have the means to weld the holes up. If you decide to braze instead of weld, be sure you get ALL the flux residue from the weld area as it will grow hair very similar to you favorite bread mold...Bondo is very much like brake fluid as it will absorb moisture from the air as the panel heats and cools so if moisture is able to condense..well..it sucks it in..then when the sun hits the next day..it will draw the moisture right on through and blister your top coat...I believe everyone has seen examples of this.
  6. 49-52 similar but will not mount proper..tried this first...mounts are for narrow frame extensions if my memory serves me correct.
  7. Fireball..is this why you were up early this morning...do you have an alibi? http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070831/od_nm/finland_mink1_dc;_ylt=Am8LuYzn4Kf8vhaCtYgkHjqs0NUE
  8. so Mike Tyson is from Indiana???????
  9. his day starts out bad every day..think of it..he is up about 7 hours before we are...earlier for some left coasters...
  10. you got that right Greg...can't even find bailing wire anymore..what has this country gone to????
  11. have you tried to do a "search the forum" ??? type in sway bar... Mine used to be the same as yours is now..
  12. yeah..let me sell you a Ford 200 complete engine with automatic transmission and floor shifter...even has a radiator with it..I will not be using that set up and the engine has never been test fired by me..it is ready to start..I did tune it up and did check for fire but never put gas to it...just not in my interest to do this as I will NEVER use this engine in that car and got the car because it has one of the most solid bodies I have seen...this is the car I went over the hood on yesterday welding up the normal stress cracks found along the rear hinge support that are welded to the hood..these welds I inspected and renewed in a few places and reinforced for good measure. None are without some minor work to be done.... Whoever started the install of the 200 Ford six abandoned the project as the rear crossmember was never built...I recently removed the doghouse and it is just sitting in place with two bolts and the rad mounts sitting on the frame..easy engine removal..there is no air cleaner with the Ford engine. Make you a good deal on a 1960 Ford panel with fatman suspension, disc brakes, R&P etc etc....
  13. Noisy woods....I pitched my tent on the hilltop at my aunts place in WV years ago...it was me and the wife. Great spot, thick carpet moss for nice soft padding...anyway..about 2 AM two hoot owl got in a hollering contest..they worked themselves slowly closer and closer...about 3 AM they met and did battle..lots of thrashing about in the dry leaves about 50 feet from the tent..then long before sunup the birds started chirping..sounded like there must have been in the tens of thousands of them...(we know not) but after a long 10 hour drive...set up camp and try to et some sleep..nature really pushed me to the limits that first night.
  14. I like the OT but rther just go home and let them send me the money...I turn down OT quite a bit...just rather be at the house whether I am doing anything or not...I paid off my house in two years with OT money ...got burnt out I guess..
  15. Pep boys seems rather selective in placing their outlets..it is definitely a population thing...closest one to me is about 45 miles and that is in Macon, GA..we have a host of the other guys...Car Quests left this area couple years back...
  16. I start work 6AM EST time..like getting off work at 2:30 in the afternoon...especially when the time changes..get home in time to do some work about the place before the sun falls out of the sky...used to come in at 5 and get off at 1;30 but they figured we were enjoying that too much....
  17. We have had a great breakin the temp this weekend..humidity has been tolerable..this evening I got out in the shop and welded up the stress crack and broken spotwelds on the P15 hood..did a bit of acid etching..good start... Then I weed eated the yard, driveway, orhcard etc and mowed the lawn..just a tad over 2 acres..went well..looks great..now if I can just get the trs folks to pick up my limbs that were broken in three back to back windstorms..the pecans are so heavey this year and the limbs hanging so low..pile of stuff is about 12 foot long by 3 foot deep by 4 foot high..
  18. catfish here in the south is a staple..right up there with grits...I rarely eat fish except for what is cooked at the house with the exception being Captain D's...love that North Atlantic ice fish...(cod) I only eat fried fish when camping..about the only time I will take the time to pick out bones...
  19. nothing against you DeSoto or Chrysler owners..I own a D24, couple D19's and the P15 and the D24 is by far the prettiest dash of the era...even put on in my D19 coupe...the 41 is just to quaint..no pazazz...
  20. years ago I pretty much done the same thing..but then years ago I was close to the library..I am at minimum 10 miles from anything...anywhere..anytime...and on the same token, they are that far from me..and that balances out..no noise, no traffic etc etc..
  21. dang, I am guilty of selling one..did I commit fraud???????
  22. this thread was cause for me to go look at mine real close..it is a 48 sedan and it does not have the ribbed bar across the radio grille....as the 41 is toatally different, the 42 has the Plymouth emblem affixed..this is either a early rendition or modification..there is a ribbed piece for the glovebox..could it be that this is just a second one of them pieces affixed here yb some modifier..??????? just guess folks...did not want to unwrap all my stuff in the box..maybe someone can do a measurement...
  23. growing old is mandatory..growing up is optional..as is well dispicted by the above photograph
  24. One of you northern varmints ought to pick that sucker up...I just recently made a trip to Indiana and got a new Mopar toy...buy it for properity...they no longer being made ya know...can't have everything, got no place to put this stuff anymore...
  25. got that deer in the headlight stare added with a sneer of disgust from the young lady at the hardware store when I ased if she could help me with my ball cock..
