  1. Interesting! Did the light turn on with the ignition? Or is/was there a manual switch?
  2. My thoughts are it never came from the factory with the light option. I have seen repops, but the ones I have come across are solid plastic, not hollow.

  5. I wish you the BEST in your fires. Hot Shots and 559 firefighters have things ALMOST under control here in Sedona. 80K acres lost but no loss of life, and only a VERY few homes. These folks are my heroes!
  6. Here in the high desert we expect the heat, and the temps to be over 100. BUT, the added bonus being surrounded by fires is unnerving? I have to extend my hand to the 663 Fire Fighters that are risking everything for us here in Sedona and surrounding communities!!! Without them we would surely be up the creek without a paddle. 18 months without rain has made this area a tinderbox. With over 7 million visitors every year mistakes by not using their heads happens, often. This particular fire is from lightening though. Yup, lightening! So, there must have been rain then I hear someone ask? Actually no, the air is SO dry that the rain never reaches the ground. Dangerous situation. Keep cool out there! It is still early in the Season!

  8. Hello Dave. Good to hear that there is another Plymouth in your collection! As far as that button goes, here is my two cents worth. I feel that you are dealing with a button that was never going to work well in the first place. In other words, if it worked at all it was there only cosmetically. The good thing I see is that you DO have the correct chromed bezel on the door. These mechanisms can still be found, but sometimes the bezel is not with the assembly. So you are a step ahead of the game. I will try to go back through some archived photos I took of mine and attach them to this thread. This may take a bit of time, as I am not sure exactly what storage disk I have them on.

  11. Thanks, Rich! I do not even know why I have several of these, but if you know of anyone that could use them, I would ask for an offer and donate that offer to this web site. I am certain that would be acceptable even in Plymouthy Adams eyes!!! But then again, maybe not.... P-A, I just can never get enough of your sense of humor!
  12. O.K. Guys, I will do so. I would have done this in the first place, but they are stapled in the original brown paper, and I did not wish to disturb that. Give me some time to do this and I will re-post with photos. Thanks for taking your time to reply. ?
  13. In sifting though some older boxes of items I dragged across the country in my last move, I came across two NOS stainless pieces that bared these numbers. 769023 and 769024. I simply can not remember what the heck they are for? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I do know they are not Plymouth, so I am stuck without a way of running the numbers. Thanks again Guys!
  14. I did the best I could to see if there was any information current to my question, and I could not find anything, so, anyone have any good luck with a Stainless Restoration Company? Or, is there any place that I should stay away from? The part that needs dent repairs is the vertical center molding on a 1940 Plymouth project I have started. The molding is about 29 inches in length, but only the lower 16 inches is in need of dent repair. I could post pictures if necessary. Thanks in advance for your replies!
  15. The parts found a good home on the AACA Forum. Went to a restorer that will use the parts on his car. He was thrilled! Thank you for the direction!
  16. Not certain as to why the bulb part, that was originally on the drivers rear side looks white in that photo. It has to be a fault in the glass lens. It is super "rare" I do not like to use that word, but, to find a true NOS tail light lens. When found you can see that there is actually a grey, mirror like reflective silvering material behind the lens and the bulb. I am sure that it did to some degree reflect light back to an oncoming car. That being said there was no reason to install one on the passenger side.
  17. One secret is to keep your money separated in your pocket. So if you are trying to get a part and the seller is asking $40 for the part you do not pull out a $50 dollar bill and then ask if he will take 30-35 dollars. He knows that you have the extra money. Pull out a 20 and a 10 to show him the money in your hand but have the 5 in a pocket so you can then try to get it for 35 if he counter offers. YIKES!!! The gig is up! Time to install zippers on your pockets!
  18. Yup, it is a safety reflector. Also, they did not put a lock-set on the outside of the drivers door. This way, no one would be fumbling around for a key while in the path of traffic! And, you can NEVER lock yourself out of the car!!!
  19. Just traveling the Pennsylvania Turnpike to which the tolls are now the most expensive road in this country is enough to turn me away. Both Hershey and Carlisle over the past decade have gone towards your typical Mustang, Chevelle, Beenie Babies, and Shadow Statue meets. Sure, Hershey still amazes me with how the Packard Vendors seem to all keep together, and some vendors that sell such off the wall rare parts from cars that I kind of remember, but if you are looking for 80 year old MoPar stuff, stay home and keep dry.....
  20. If it has a single post on the reverse side, it is for a 1941. If it sports two pins, it is for either a 1939 or a 1940.
