  1. Yeah its working its way to that. When I got back into town from buffalo at 6 there was about 3". It looks to have doubled sence, but thats an 'out the window' guess.
  2. I had that issue too. My return springs were rusted solid so over time it did some damage. It's easy to remove and replace though. Remove the four drive shaft nuts and slide the shaft off. Then remove the big nut in the middle of the drum. Should slide off with some pulling. After you fix the brake I would still recomend greg's sugestion of a log under the tire. The cars have been known to run away when no one is looking.
  3. All I know is there will be at least one car that wont fall to parting out. I just drove mine around the block for the first time in a few years fell in love all over again.
  4. Below is a site that offers a list of gas stations that still offer un-adulterated (tree huggin' hippie free) gas. http://pure-gas.org/index.jsp
  5. Havent been there yet. Nice pictures!
  6. Idk about ex military roots but Alaska seems to likes utility, so its possible. Sign on the fender reads: "1942 Dodge 1 1/2 Ton Truck From Hitchinbrook Island Prince William Sound 11,000 actual miles, original tires, flathead 6, 4 speed, double clutch, 98% original, only four owners."
  7. I came across this '42 Dodge truck in the aviation museum in Anchorage, AK. It was in an outbuilding packed with planes. Enjoy.
  8. It was 106 in that picture. They usualy evacuate you if that much ash is falling.
  9. Wow, here i am working in a small 2 car garage with a car jack and blocks of wood. Apparently I'm doing it wrong. Everone has some very nice setups.
  10. That was a really cool video. I want to buy one now. Time to head out to the local plymouth dealer. Afterward go to the drive in for a double feature. With its ample room i should be able to invite all my pals.
  11. How about rapping some coated copper wire around a iron rod and dropping it in there. Should catch alot of the iron if properly electrified.
  12. The guys at work were talking about this Thursday. Then friday I get hit head on by an old guy in a catty. I'm alittle scared to have the Plymouth in Syracuse. PS He and I were both ok.
  13. A little update on the job search if your interested. The Bennington job fell through. Although I had another on the hook in Syracuse and will be taking that job. If anyone has any good leads on apartments, good areas to live, or a place to store my car it would be appreciated.
  14. I had a hot start problem and went through the usual suspects as stated previous. The solution ended up being a new (possibly larger gage) ground wire. Starts every time now.
  15. I see you practice the rule of thirds with your pictures. Congrats on the ability to stop better.
  16. That's alot less fun looking. Like the H3 and a hmmwv.
  17. That is a great link. Bookmarked for when I do my floors.
  18. I believe thats what we call coming though. We just hadn't had our coffee yet.

  20. Pull the door card and inner window trim metal. You should see the regulator arms. Follow them up to the base of the window. Grab a mirror. Look at the back side of the arm, there should be a friction clip holding the post from moving out of the slot at the bottom of the window. Remove aforementioned clip and the other arms clip as well. Have the window at about half staff, error to the low side. Hold window. Slide regulator arm pins out of the slots in the bottom of the window. Pull window up and slightly inward. It should take some dancing but it will come out. Set removed window down. Get chair. Enjoy cocktail. I know pictures are worlds better then words but I dont have any at my disposal. Hope that helps. If you need a picture of a step I could take one. I just recently removed my windows.
  21. Hahaha yeah...although some shady spots kept it for a surprisingly long time. I grew up in Rochester, if the wind came off that lake right in the winter... I bought an old ariens at the beginning of this year but the whole winter it and the plymouth were just as useful. Making my garage look full. As soon as it warmed up it seems to be just a bad tune. So glad I got it running to shoot pine cones. Which is pretty entertaining, btw.
  22. Just pick up a 6v lamp and base from radio shack (that is if they still sell stuff like that anymore ). Solder on some cloth wire, witch I'm sure you have some extra from all the stuff you've been doing. Then unscrew the little plate in the ordainment, slide the lamp base tab under, tighten, done!
  23. Thanks for the luck. Hopefully I move from the city of good neighbors to the city of sweet barn finds. Then I can move up in car too; well just get the one I have a buddy. Cant have just one. Some of us know this personally.
  24. 16ga should be alright for the floor w/o any beading.
  25. makes sense, thanks.
