    I worked in a commercial nursery for 10 years... the guys would double wrap there burritos in aluminum foil .. set it on the exhaust manifold ,, turn it once ,, 30 min. later -- a hot burrito... had them all the time ... no bad taste .. of course they also used to cook fresh goat meat on a plowing disk over a open fire .. that tasted good also..

    try a machine shop supply store.. i think they were called stripper bolts,, or some of the agriculture - tractor supply stores.. they are still used on machinery and come in different sizes and lengths.. last one i replaced was for a hay baler.. maybe shoulder bolts is the right name...

    56 now ,, got my first computer run car at 53.... CANT STAND IT !! had my 63 chevy carryall (burb) for over 25 years .. always loved the way old dodges looked ... finally got one.. still a project ... i'll never get another computer controlled car.. i figure that if i spend the money that i am spending on payments,, on a old car,, it should be cherry in 5 years instead of being a hunk of junk that needs to go to the junk yard....

    don't knock them young-uns ..they might not know as much as us ,, but they sure come in handy...they make great grunts and are willing to learn,,, at least some are if you can get the games out of there hands... why did they get rid of auto shop in schools just to teach them computers??? we all figured out how to run a computer without a special class .. i know that they won't figure out how to rebuild a engine without some schooling,, so i guess that WE are the teachers.. WE are the old guys !!!!

    I have helped a few guys rewire there cars.. el camino,, old jag,, and a50's chevy .. the kits were really easy to do... pretty good instructions ,, and wires are marked really well ..I don't know about the ones for these cars ,, but i think they should work out ok ..thinking of using one for my car when i get that far.. tired of using ones from junk yard ,, and having to tear it apart and making up a new cartoon so i know where i'm at ..

    I've noticed that all the cars here are newer cars ... that says a lot .. my 63 chevy carryall (burb ) i've owned for over 25 years now without any problems .. and i guess that all you have a old car that is almost trouble free ... my 99 olds shiloutte van is costing me more to keep up than it will cost to re-do my chevy or my town sedan ... makes me wonder ,,,, why spend the money on the new junk when the old stuff works soo much better ??

    i've had my 63 chevy carryall (burb) for over 25 years now .. it was my only car for 18 years .. still have a total of under 2 grand in it ,, including rebuilding engine and $300.00 purchase price ..i think i got my money's worth.. i would like to add a/c and do a remake on it .. should be good for another 25 years or more ..my oldest daughter (27) has claimed it as hers ... guess it's time to spend a few more grand..

    well,, I for one was glad to see Canada win .. USA has enough gold ... and if we won,, it would be like losing a Superbowl game to Canada.. just wouldn't seem right.. and how many people in the USA really cares about hockey anyway ????

    thanks for all your concerns... i just got out from hospital.. still in a lot of pain .. doctor never mentioned how much it would hurt ..pain pills give me some freeky dreams.. but i know that i will get better ..1 more problem down.. and a few more to find out about...

    i'm a equipment mechanic .. worked on construction and agriculture - farm equipment all my life ..... that is until 2 years ago.. farmers sold there land to developers then bottom fell out of the housing market .. so now land sits and way too many vacant homes ... way too many mechanics sitting on there bottoms waiting.. every time i leave the house,, i drive by hundred of pieces of equipment taking a sun bath.. now i have some health issues to work out .. I'm getting too old to start over again.. tired of worrying... just want to putter around and work on my toys..i hope i get well enough to soon..

    when i first found my car,, it was burried under a pile of parts and could only see front end and roof line .. my nephew said that my mom , his grandma,, said that it has to go .... then out came my wife,, i said LOOK... she said it has to have a dependable motor/trans ,, a/c,, she gets to pick color,,and made a list of things she wants on her car.. I asked her so i can get it???? she thinks that it is going to be her car... ok i said.. when i'm done with it....

    i havn't took any pics of sub frame yet .. it is a rear steer clip.. steering box sits just above left foot ,, so i will have to make-up a steering column.. I think it will be one from a case cotton picker that i have .. has to come out from steering wheel ,, go to the left than turn down and go to box ,, 2 u-joints and 1 anti-whip bearing should work .. then make-up a outer case .. i've done several of them on school buses .. guess i'll have to take some pics.. when i get out of hospital ,, having my left kidney removed tomorrow...thanks for the input .. bob..
