what kind of luck have you guys had in mounting a 218 or 230 to an engine stand...I was going to buy one of the heavy duty stands 2000lb..but mounting looks like it could be interesting...I know it can be done, but others have been through the trail and error process before me, I'm sure....??
Thanks in advance
little off topic, but...my neighbor was repacking his trailer axle bearings the other night and I was kinda watching/drinking a beer...I'm not too smart when it comes to grease, but he was using a "universal grease" out of a grease gun..is this right? can he use this instead of the yellow thick type of "wheel bearing grease"?
whats the difference between "universal grease" and typical "wheel bearing" grease? and can this be done?
just curious...thanks
when I was in the engine shop, some kid in the back told me you can put 010 over main bearings on a stock crank, just to tighten it up...I just igorned him and moved on...make any sense?
before I rebuilt my brake system, my wheel cylinders were seized...so everytime I pushed on the brakes...they would apply but would not release totally...
its -47 with the windchill in Saskatchewan, Canada right now...
i'm pretty sure -40F and -40C is the same..
a little chilly in the garage right now...the snowblower wont even turn over...
neither will my vehicles if the block heaters are not plugged in
A guy is selling a '49 Fargo 1 ton..
what size of engine should that have? 230?
I would like a donor 230 for my 218 (that has been in pieces in my garage for the past 2 years)
Thanks guys
