  1. I run everything I have with premium (lawn mower, snow blower, chain saw, minivan, pilothouse, 94 chev 3/4 ton) just because my mileage increases about 2mpg that makes up for the price. Not only that, but my fuel tanks don't rust out, fuel lasts longer in a jerry can and my small engines start so good after sitting for awhile. I could care less either way, but in my brief time apon this earth, that is what is working for me. However I do buy my gas from a gas station where I do know the owner and I know it is premium. I believe 80 percent of the companies put the same crap gas in all their tanks then sell it out of a special hose for more money. Just my 2 cents
  2. Yes, I have the same question How does everyone insure their antique vehicles?
  3. I have the exact same pair in my pickup hahaha Rider Pride!
  4. so I am working at a friend of mine's garage. In his infinite wisdom he is looking at my engine and says "why is your coil mounted upside down?" "You never mount a coil upside down, there is oil in there and it doesnt cool properly"..."I said, I dont know, thats the way it has always been, never had any trouble with it..??" Should I be turning it around in the bracket and making it work?? anyone else heard of this, or what do I use as a deflection? haha
  5. slightly more HP than mine
  6. Ya, its -33 this morning here, and I'm out rummaging through my spare parts

  8. would you guys happen to have a part number for the thin belt on the 251? I'm thinking the pulleys must be the same size as the 218/230 thin belt pulleys? Thanks

  12. Hey guys, If any canadian members were interested, I was thinking we should have a get-together sometime this summer. Everyone would be welcome (of course) but it would be nice to have some local guys get together to share and enjoy our trucks and cars. Lots of chev and ford groups around here, but not many pilothouse or dodge trucks in the dodge shows. Anyway, let me know if anyone is interested and maybe we can put something together for sometime this summer. Thanks

  15. Perfect! Thanks very much, have a great night
  16. nice and straight truck...very nice welcome!
  17. I was mostly concerned over the flywheel. Since the IND 251 will have a heavier crank and longer stroke I didn't know if there was any difference in the weight or size of the flywheel, or if there was if it would make much difference...the bell housing appears to be the same, but I thought I would float it by the "wisdom" of the forum, because I'm only 30 with limited experience
  18. yup both canadian 25" blocks...sorry forgot to add that
  19. I'm in the process of switching engines in my b2b going from the factory 218 to a IND 251.. now, when reassembling can I use the flywheel out of my 218? it looks to be in much better condition and not as rusty..what are the parts that I can interchange between the two engines? my old engine ran great, started great, everything worked and it drove nice (until I spun 2 rod bearings)...it had new points, distributor cap, rotor, rebuilt carb, new clutch disc etc etc.. so I would like to use as many parts of my 218 as possible because of its reliability.. Thanks in advance for the help Dave
  20. I think years ago we had the same discussion and alot of guys have had good luck with shell rotella T 15w40
  21. it was -42 degrees celcius (-43.6F for you american folks), and -51 (-58.9F) with the windchill here last wednesday haha...vehicles with block heaters still have a tough time starting, thats when battery blankets and oil pan heaters are also handy (if you dont have a heated garage) haha:eek:
  22. very nice job...I live in Saskatchewan Canada, no way we could wear tshirts to a christmas parade haha it was -30 with the winchill at our parade this year
  23. Thanks guys, you don't know how happy that makes me... Its been 6 years in the making through raising a young family and having 2 moms funerals to pay for. I think I'll drop it in this weekend! It says on the tag IND 251 Thanks again, That really makes my day!
  24. I just picked up a good running 251 industrial that was in a '47 half ton, for some reason?. Would this fit in my b2b easy enough? The blocks are almost the same length (canadian 218-25") Always thanks in advance Dave
