    Ah, similar, but not quite like the current day CV Boot straps. Those look easy enough to make, if not currently available.

    After reading your post, and now having a 6 Volt battery, decided to check mine. Seems to be OK. Works on two speeds, stops in the same place each time. ? Wondering, what is the 'dropping resistor', mine does not have? I recall your posting about the generator, so I am guessing, without going back several pages, you are running 6 Volts, correct? Is this like the wiper motor you are using?

    Yes it is a great tool, and I've had mine since probably the mid-to-late eighties also, I've replaced the cutting blade only once and it still works fantastic.

    DITTO - What @kencombs Said! Can not count how may times my bloody fingers have come from some dark 'tie-wrapped' area due to wraps cut sticking out or worst, and at an angle. This is what I use...... Panduit GS2B, GS2BL Operating Instructions.pdf

    Got some 'LIGHTER' decals printed this week, setting up to do the installation Some photos of the finished product, the font on the NOS lighter is a tad smaller than all the other knobs but at least it is white on black With the stylus I was able to indent the text so it 'feels' right

    Checked the crates and the parts book two of my three are like on my current engine, one is narrow and long like yours (and broken) not sure of the applications from those 'parts' brackets. Parts book shows three different part numbers, not sure what is which? Seems to depend on the installed generator. FWIW
