  1. Video works fine for. Great to see. Must be a thrill having your Dad there involved too. Looking forward to more posts. A great vehicle...
  2. Yes, I too have enjoyed this thread. Am now looking forward to seeing the progress of Joe in his thread about the '29 DeSoto Coupe he acquired. They are nice looking vehicles...
  3. This is the start of a great thread...love stories like this. Thanks for letting us all come along for the ride...
  4. Had to go and sit in the cab to check this Tim. Memory for such detail definitely not reliable after 30 years park up... So, sitting in the cab, the left side (passenger for the rhd vehicle) mirror view sits perfectly and unobscured in the small wing mirror. The driver's side mirror is viewable through the larger wind down window. In my opinion they both give good enough visibility on each side of the vehicle. I agree with you that they are necessary. My '38 sedan never had these side mirrors and 40 years ago I don't remember it being a problem. After driving modern, well equipped vehicles with good visibility I am certainly on the lookout for some suitable door hung side mirrors for this car. Am sure you will solve this one. The picture of the two Brits together in your shed looks really nice. They complement each other well.
  5. ...and they look pretty blurry...am happy to identify specific part numbers if required by anyone. ...and I concur with Andy here. The indicated parts on the posted picture are of part of the 'radius arm' or 'sway eliminator' as listed in the parts book, not spring shackle bushings as described ...
  6. You may be right Andy...but in order to help others in future searches here are some part numbers from both US and Canadian Chrysler Corp vehicles, including the P6...
  7. These are my version Tim. They were very functional 30 plus years ago. Might look a bit agricultural on your fine build but I share nonetheless...
  8. Excellent post. Very helpful for those with similar rides. Had mine rebuilt years ago and not many miles on them yet. Was my only option then. Thanks for sharing...
  9. Noted...thanks Andy
  10. Probably adding to the confusion here as mine is right hand drive. Nevertheless, it is a '38 and built in Detroit. Identical to the P6 chassis but marketed as a D9 Dodge for export. This shows the suspension set up and sway bar for 1938. OP will have to confirm if the same as his of course - rhd may make it a different setup...
  11. It will really hum along Tim. Looks like it's smiling to boot...
  12. Mine is 1970 vintage. Very similar to yours but with more glass in the back. A previous owner put a Nissan 1200 motor, gearbox and drivetrain in it. Needs some rust work in many areas and reassembly of the mechanicals. We bought it when we had two of our four children and put a couple of seats just behind the front seats that the minions occupied. Fun times really. The nostalgia has stopped me from moving it on and my over-adventurous barely teenage son dismantled it som 20 years ago. Yours is looking real good. They are fun little vehicles to have. Very common here once but not too many around now.
  13. Looking good Tim. This is the inspiration I need to get onto my old Morris van...
  14. RIP Robbie. The Band were heavyweights indeed. The music lives on though...easier to nurture than these old cars...
  15. Not sure whether this is the same as your '39 but it helped me with my '38...
  16. Am certainly enjoying this big truck thread. Thanks for sharing...and to Dodgeb4ya for all your input
  17. I don't think you would have any problems with a bit of oil in your gas if you put it bit by bit in your other vehicles. The problems arise when you go the other way and don't have 2 stroke oil mixed in when required for those engines...my 2c worth anyway...
  18. Thanks for the update Keith. I hear you...I look at the glimpse of the bumpers and appreciate it's uniqueness. Art deco near it's peak from the Chrysler stable. I have a '39 Desoto Coupe nearby that tempts me too. Just too many headwinds in my life at present.
  19. Wondering if there is anything to update on here Keith...?
  20. Great pics. Thanks for posting. I always like seeing these beasts at work...
  21. Great truck. Well done for your time looking after it and hope it goes to a good home. Sadly, out of my reach geographically at this time...
  22. Great pics dodgeb4ya. Dunno whether any of those trucks made it to NZ but one of them would sure look good on the farm here...
  23. Now that shows some passion for the flathead...love it. Looking forward to reading more about this project.
  24. A nice pic and a nice car. Looking forward to seeing some more of this fine automobile...
