  1. Enough online image editors to beat the band and a myriad of apps for those on phones and tablets. Here is an online image resizer that will work on both desktop and mobile: https://imageresize.org Here is my absolute favorite image editing app: http://pipixlr.com Pixlr might be over kill for those technically challenged. For those I suggest a simple a mobile app like Photo and Picture Resizer by Farluner: http://bit.ly/2C5D7Gn You should be asking yourself; "What size?". Since most of us will be using our phones, and even those old school types that insist on using the digital camera they bought themselves, or received for Christmas or a birthday, the digital image size will be in the 8-12 megapixel range. For most forums, including this one, you won't need anything larger than 1200 pixels wide - which is a smidgen over 1 megapixel and just so happens to be the perfect size for Facebook Edited with Pixlr
  2. Yeah, I see they range from about $4 - $12. Their drawback seems to be a plastic body. On the upside, the mounting posts and electrical fit my bracket, as does this Amazon $20 light with a steel body: http://amzn.to/2zoYr4o. I see where this Amazon light is popular, $30 and while it advertises a 5/8 mounting stud I'm not seeing it. @johnsartain mentioned needing a drill press and die grinder to get it mounted. Decisions decisions... I may just bite the bullet and pay DCM Classics the $100 or so they are asking, or cheap out for awhile and go to e Trailer for a total of about $12 for two complete lights.
  3. OMG @Merle Coggins, so much to learn, and look what I found. Though not as cool as a glass lens with "Dodge": https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Lights/Peterson/432000.html About $12 bucks. Check out how well the product is presented and demonstrated.
  4. I like the swap meet idea. I'll have to keep my ear to the ground - find something nearby.
  5. I'm so bad at this. My recent DCM Classics order has arrived and boy was I excited to see the merchandise; Tail light lens, gaskets, wring connectors and most exciting of all the parking light conversion kit for only sixteen bucks. Most of it doesn't fit, damit. It's not the fault of DCM Classics, though they could do a better job of illustrating and describing their products. Consider the tail light lens with Dodge script (Part # LE-120). They say: "fits 28-56 tail lights LE-130 & LE 131". Somehow I took that to mean it would fit my '50 Dodge B2B. Not so much. Now'll I'll have to buy the buckets that it will fit on. Heck, I was going to do this anyway in a few months. Didn't want to spend the $200.00 plus dollars it will take over the Christmas/New Years holidaze. DCM Classics doesn't have a great return policy like Amazon, but then they don't have to when you can't find what DCM sells at Amazon, and for the most part you can't. Here's a snippet of their policy: If for any reason you are not satisfied with your product, any item that is not exempt from our return policy may be returned within 30 days from the date of purchase for a 100% in store credit. Cash refunds are subject to a 20% res-stocking fee. A Credit Authorization Number must be received prior to returning any equipment by calling our customer support number. All products must be returned in new condition and in their original packaging, including installation manuals to receive a 100% in store credit or 80% cash refund. I'm not complaining about anything, only whining a bit. OK, so I AM complaining about the dearth of product photos and descriptions. How many have browsed their catalog only to be put off by the big question mark where a photo should be. Take a look at their Head Bolt Set to see what I mean: http://bit.ly/2C02WIa What are the secrets to finding the right parts. Will I ever have my tail light working again and still have it looking original?
  6. I think it is a fantastic idea. Ol' Roxanne has the original wood which I cherish. The thought of shiny new lumber was and still is quite appealing, or a bed made from old hockey sticks perhaps could be so cool. But for now, those old original boards are the cat's meow. Being a fickle guy, one never knows what the future may hold.
  7. Hey, Colorado let's you use vintage plates too, but they couldn't find a hit in the system on my vintage plate so suggested I opt for the "Horseless Carriage Plat at $12/year. I said: "OK" My son and I were talking about porch package thiefs and those who might steal a part off of Roxanne just last nigh. After a couple of Odell's IPA brews, he thought having a bomb explode upon theft would serve notice while providing "notice" to those so inclined. (the suvivors)
  8. Speakers are cheap. Start with an 8ohm and see how it sounds. Take you next step from what you learn there. Have any thrift stores around? They are rife with funky electronics. Buy a sack of speaker crap and give 'em a go. Keep the one that sounds best to your ears.
  9. You could post more pictures and I'm sure nobody would complain. Heck, throw in a story or two
  10. Thanks! After setting up the shot and waiting for tha ambient light to subdue, dog walking neighbors started stopping by and wanting to borrow my "set". The trick is the lamp behind the truck, under the truck, and next year, in the cab so you can see the dogs better
  11. Ivory? Hmmm. Maybe buy the black ones from DCM Classics and have a local artist give them a faux ivory finish: http://bit.ly/2kzpohd
  12. Falalalalalalalala!
  13. Purchased a C Clamp from Harbor Freight for the express purpose of pressing out the passenger door hinge pin. Not too many turns of the screw later and the clamp split. Looking for a C Clamp recommendation that has a good price to strength ratio
  14. OMG I thought this might happen to me. I read the driver's door can only be locked from the inside. I guess that was a lie. You see, I was freaking out because I was able to lock the passenger door from the outside with the key, but it wouldn't unlock from the outside! I tried wiggling, jiggling and for three weeks, nothing. Then one cold fall morning it worked! The key turned and the door unlocked. I'll never lock that door again, unless with some certainty I can get it re-keyed to where it works at least 99.9% of the time.
  15. Yup, 4 speed non synchro. Gear whine though a tad quieter wit the new oil. After the engine rebuild, will you be sticking with the same tranny? Is it also 4 speed non synchro?
  16. YIKES $82.50! But so magnificent. I think I'll clean mine up, re-paint then sell them on Ebay. Take the money and buy a brand and new set from Roberts. Thanks ☺️
  17. Tail Light stops working. Brake light never worked. Thought I'd unscrew the lens and take a look at the bulb - it looks fine and then I drop it onto the garage floor. Oh crap, now it's broken. Buy a new bulb, it won't seat. Look at the socket, one of the wire ends has disappeared. The socket contact plate is stuck. Try to take off the can to get better access to the socket and wires, nuts only come off so far before they endlessly spin and now I have a dangling tail light and license plate. Bend the metal plate to get the bolts out and now it hangs by its wires, and I find the light socket is pressed in. What to do? If I buy a DCM replacement it won't be original any longer. Drive to the salvage yard and arive at 3:55pm. They close at 4 so kick me out. This shouldn't be so hard. Changing a bulb is kicking my a$$!
  18. Sweet. Where did you find those perfect hupcaps?
  19. Go for Shell Rotella 25/40. Throw in a quart of Castro High Mileage. Worked for me (so far). I don't get the "drop the pan" plan. How are new tie tod bearings going to change oil pressure? What am I missing? How about hedge your bet with a complete engine overhaul. While the engine is at the shop, scout out a twin carb manifold
  20. Yeah, I purchased another filter, sock this time. One adventure after another. Didn't know about the Baldwin. I'll look that up.
  21. I anguished over this. I would have like to put on a pair of West Coast,rs but the thought of drilling holes into my pristine doors made me cringe. I ended up buying a set of 5" round black for that period correct look on my '50 B2B; never put thought hem on. Bought a pair of 5x7 with chrome backs 'cause like you I want to "see". Put one on and was a big improvement over the 5" round wide angle that came on the truck when I bought her. Things don't always go as planned wit Roxanne and I. Took me all weekend to change my engine and tranny oils. Got 'er done and she isn't leaking any more that previously See my other post LOL
  22. Right, I read somewhere the 51080, though not a "sock" could be used in lieu of.
  23. Does this look right? I pulled out the old sock filter (was pretty tight) and replaced it with the recommended equivalert WIX. Notice how short, only about 1/2 way up the can. Plus the included seal is a tad oversize - ended up putting in my original seal.
  24. Hey Joe, what did you find that fit the top of the carb? I haven't started looking yet.
