Guys, this is my oldest son's car after a wreck on Thursday night. A tractor trailer (with tandem trailers) lost control, crossed the I-12 median, and the second trailer flipped and landed on my son's car. Zach walked away with a broken scapula and a lot of bruises and cuts from the glass.

When you say your prayers tonight, please pass along a word of thanks from the dirty family.

Looks like a close call there. Glad to hear he's okay.

I'm sure we've all had close calls in life. Just glad that the lord hasn't decided it was my time yet. I'll be glad to pray for your family. Wish your son a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear of your son's accident but glad to hear he will be OK. When people say they don't build them like they used to I always reply "It's a good thing!" These new cars have the crumple zones, telescoping steering wheels, etc. but most of all good seat belts. I truly believe new cars save a lot of lives with the safety advances of the last 20+ years.

Dan,

Eight months ago I made the same request from this forum on behalf of my Lady Wife Lynn. Was it her surgury alone that got rid of her multiple cancers and a cyst the size of a plum, or was it the prayers from friends in forums like this that inspired an Angel to kiss her? Maybe it was a combination, and in thanks for her full recovery we will gladly include Zach in our prayers tonight.

Zach's already seen the Doctors, so we'll do what we can to give that angel a nudge in Zach's direction.

God bless.

Glad he made it through. He will be in our prayers for the healing touch. By the way, is the truck driver o.k.? I ask because I drive a set-up like that. Wayne P.

Everyone's nightmare..glad all is well..as said, cars can be replaced..I have replaced a couple in my time...they do build a car more in tune to occupant safety than in the past...that is why I like modern components in my old cars..belts, restraints, modern columns and yes even the air bags are retrofitted..

The truck driver was discharged from the hospital the same night. I never saw him, but I assume he was ok. You be careful with that rig.

Thanks for the well wishes guys. I'll pass them on to Zach.

Glad he is OK, maybe he should buy some lottery tickets!!! He is a very lucky guy for sure.

He can't be too lucky...The newspaper says that poor fellow is 72 years old. I hope he's still driving because he wants to!

A Baton Rouge newspaper says 10 people went to the hospital and none had life threatening injuries. That's amazingly great news. The mess was so bad that the interstate was closed in both directions for several hours, and the east-bound side had some lanes closed for 14 hours.

Once again, thanks for your prayers guys.

Given the circumstances, your son was very fortunate. I hope his injuries heal quickly.

What kind of car was he driving?

1996 Dodge Neon. It crumpled where and just like it was supposed to do. Yeah MOPAR!
