dirty dan Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Guys, this is my oldest son's car after a wreck on Thursday night. A tractor trailer (with tandem trailers) lost control, crossed the I-12 median, and the second trailer flipped and landed on my son's car. Zach walked away with a broken scapula and a lot of bruises and cuts from the glass. When you say your prayers tonight, please pass along a word of thanks from the dirty family. Quote
NatesSedan Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Glad to hear he was ok. Wishing him a speedy recovery. Quote
greg g Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 WOW!!! Providence smiled on him for sure. Quote
steveplym Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Looks like a close call there. Glad to hear he's okay. I'm sure we've all had close calls in life. Just glad that the lord hasn't decided it was my time yet. I'll be glad to pray for your family. Wish your son a speedy recovery. Quote
RobertKB Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Sorry to hear of your son's accident but glad to hear he will be OK. When people say they don't build them like they used to I always reply "It's a good thing!" These new cars have the crumple zones, telescoping steering wheels, etc. but most of all good seat belts. I truly believe new cars save a lot of lives with the safety advances of the last 20+ years. Quote
randroid Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Dan, Eight months ago I made the same request from this forum on behalf of my Lady Wife Lynn. Was it her surgury alone that got rid of her multiple cancers and a cyst the size of a plum, or was it the prayers from friends in forums like this that inspired an Angel to kiss her? Maybe it was a combination, and in thanks for her full recovery we will gladly include Zach in our prayers tonight. Zach's already seen the Doctors, so we'll do what we can to give that angel a nudge in Zach's direction. God bless. Lynn & Randy St. John Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 I made the same request a few weeks ago when our daughter broke her back and we received some good karma and prayers from the members of this forum. So Dan we will gladly include your son Zach in our prayers. Dennis Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Wow, you got it Dan all the prayer's for the day Quote
daddyo23 Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Glad he made it through. He will be in our prayers for the healing touch. By the way, is the truck driver o.k.? I ask because I drive a set-up like that. Wayne P. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Everyone's nightmare..glad all is well..as said, cars can be replaced..I have replaced a couple in my time...they do build a car more in tune to occupant safety than in the past...that is why I like modern components in my old cars..belts, restraints, modern columns and yes even the air bags are retrofitted.. dirty dan Posted July 12, 2008 Author Report Posted July 12, 2008 Glad he made it through. He will be in our prayers for the healing touch. By the way, is the truck driver o.k.? I ask because I drive a set-up like that. Wayne P. The truck driver was discharged from the hospital the same night. I never saw him, but I assume he was ok. You be careful with that rig. Thanks for the well wishes guys. I'll pass them on to Zach. Quote
PatS.... Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Glad he is OK, maybe he should buy some lottery tickets!!! He is a very lucky guy for sure. Quote
dirty dan Posted July 13, 2008 Author Report Posted July 13, 2008 Glad he is OK, maybe he should buy some lottery tickets!!! He is a very lucky guy for sure. He can't be too lucky...The newspaper says that poor fellow is 72 years old. I hope he's still driving because he wants to! A Baton Rouge newspaper says 10 people went to the hospital and none had life threatening injuries. That's amazingly great news. The mess was so bad that the interstate was closed in both directions for several hours, and the east-bound side had some lanes closed for 14 hours. Once again, thanks for your prayers guys. Quote
james curl Posted July 13, 2008 Report Posted July 13, 2008 Be easy on us old folks, I will be 72 in August but I think I am still in my 20s. Do most every thing that I did then but might be a bit slower on some. Quote
JerseyHarold Posted July 13, 2008 Report Posted July 13, 2008 Given the circumstances, your son was very fortunate. I hope his injuries heal quickly. What kind of car was he driving? Quote
