BloodyKnuckles Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 Well we are in the final stages of completion so I figured I would start new interest in another thread. You can check out the original thread here... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...bloodyknuckles Here is where we're at at the present time.. Mike, aka...BigO, is doing a fantastic job. It's taken him a bit longer because I made him take my car in his new shop before he was ready to do it. It has been well worth the wait. Public thanks to BigO for the great job and patience with my anticipation. Keep it up! The BBQ is coming up real soon!! BloodyKnuckles Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 That is going to look real good when it is done. Dennis Quote

BloodyKnuckles Posted May 25, 2008 Author Report Posted May 25, 2008 Do I see a silver flaked roof in the future??????? No. I'm really working on an early 50's style. Trying to stay out of the late 50's early 60's. It's hard to because I love that style. Thaks for all the nice words. Tomorrow I'm cutting the templates for the glass. I'll keep you updated. Grandadeo Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Hey BK, Looks really good. Very well proportioned. I better not let my son see it. He thinks we should cut my '53 hardtop. I really don't want to go there. Chopped my '41 Chevy sedan back in the '70, with a lot of help from friends. Swore I'd never chop another one unless it was a nice square Model A. Lee Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Lookin fine there, BK. Be interested to see the finished product. Quote
Arthur1947 Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Nice!! Just the right amount. Best. ARTHUR Quote

NatesSedan Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 Thanks for the update. The fresh paint looks great. Nothing like a nice shiny black paint job to show you how your body work skills are. Yours looks great in the pics! What are you thinking for taillights? Quote
wayfarerstranger Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 Outside of my wife`s center cut PORKCHOPS !!! THAT HAS TO BE THE BEST LOOKING CHOP JOB I`VE EVER SEEN ~~ most people go to far this is a sleek look ,, looks like it could have been a factory job ,,, tell BIGO he is the best !! Quote
50PlymouthSled Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 That's a real clean chop, Man. I really dig it. Looks clean, and sleak, and not a huge chop, so it looks nice, and smooth. I'll have to finish mine here soon! Haha. Quote
Don Coatney Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Rat rod looks terrific; What is the rust bucket in front of the one wheel horse? What is the mower deck off of? Where are the horses that produced the energy too reduce the bottom boards of your barn to vaporatization? Whats left of your barn is really nice! Do you call this your "rat barn?" Sorry Ron but I had to be myself.... Quote
JerseyHarold Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Even though I'm opposed to radical changes to 1951 and 1952 Plymouths, my most beloved cars, I have to say yours looks great! Quote
PatS.... Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 I'm guessing that the rust bucket in front of the one wheel horse is an Austin A40, well maybe not a guess, that's what it is. Always thought they were a neat car among the English cars that came here to rust away faster than they were built. Quote
BloodyKnuckles Posted June 23, 2008 Author Report Posted June 23, 2008 Guys, you have been very polite and I appreciate it alot. I take great pride in my cars and I take alot of time designing, planning and researching to come up with a pleasing look. I have seen plenty of cars that have been thrown together without care of the final product. I still have a long way to go but I feel I am on the right track. Thanks again, BloodyKnuckles Quote
BloodyKnuckles Posted June 23, 2008 Author Report Posted June 23, 2008 Rat rod looks terrific; Thanks, I try! What is the rust bucket in front of the one wheel horse? PatS nailed it! What is the mower deck off of? TORO Where are the horses that produced the energy too reduce the bottom boards of your barn to vaporatization? Buried in the field. Whats left of your barn is really nice! Thanks, It'll be torn down soon to make room for a 2 level, 40'X40' "carriage house". Do you call this your "rat barn?" I have.....not! Sorry Ron but I had to be myself.... You suck!!! Thanks, BloodyKnuckles Quote
greg g Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Are you tearing down the whole barn or just the delapidated portion on the front??? NY state has a program where old barns, particularly post and beam structures which were built from first cutting timber, can qualify for rehabilitation grants. They want to keep as may of the old barns standing as they can. I have a 28 x 27 (nice measurements) 2 storey, I may be writing a grant application for shortly. They don't even need to be on working farms, the historical folks get the heebie jeebies whne you talk about razing them. As a matter of fact a fellow here in town went through a two year process trying to get his old one torn down. Finally he had a bull dozer accident while excavating his new pool, that renedered it unrepairable. It came down and they put up a very modern looking 3 car garage. I miss seeing it. Quote
