Timing Light ????

Hi all, does anyone know how to sue this 4 wire timing light, can it be used on a 6 volt flathead?...............Thanx Fred

Looks like the two cables with the metal ends would go between a plug wire and the plug. Connect the plug wire onto one end and the other one goes onto the plug. The other two, alligator clips would go to the battery.

6v or 12v... can't tell from the picture.

Might work OK on 6 V if not bright enough, hook it to a 12 V jumper pack battery charger, or battery. The other wire would go in beween the dizzy cap and the lead to number 1 plug. Before you do it find the "O" lie on your crank pulley and mark it with a piece of chalk, white or yellow paint.

If brightness is an issue connect the high voltage leads in series with the coil wire.

Fred, I have an old one like that I bought a swap meet before buying my 110 volt light. Those work on 6 volt, but the light is dim. Never tried to hook mine up to a 12 volt battery, but it may work. Merle gave the right answer for the hook up. When I used mine I just turned the garage lights off so I could see the light hitting the timing mark better.
