quiet..while it may be a good idea and safe etc..they would go overkill and eliminate the drivers door entirely saving tons of money...then where would you be??

Tim lots of cars now only have 1 because of remote entry. Only they are on the drivers side.

on my 51 b3b there is only one key lock for the doors and it is on the pass. door.

Why?

I tend to agree with Tim's answer, the driver was expected to exit from the passenger side.

Speaking of door locks, I bought my 51 B3B from Ketcum Idaho about 11 years ago and it had a non original ignition switch. I picked up an original ignition switch (with key) from a junk yard in Wisconson several years ago and today I took them both to a locksmith who informed me they were keyed the same :D

What are the odds of that :confused::D.

my 91 Ramcharger and my my dad's 91 Dakota share the same key...there are just so many key combinations...I also remenber the first time I saw this..my aunt showed up with her new Dodge Dart..dad use the key from the 61 Plymouth to move the car...

In an old thread someone from "down under" (Tony maybe) commented that their locks were on the left side because of the right hand steering wheel and they drive (and park) on the left side of the road. Dave
