JerseyHarold Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 eBay Motors has a 'free listing' day for vehicles today (actually yesterday and today...I just found out about it). You still pay the sales fee at the end if it sells. If anyone wants to test the waters with a car they want to sell, this is a good opportunity to do so. Might even list one of mine at a healthy price just to see if there are any bites. Just wanted to pass the word around. Harold Quote
JerseyHarold Posted December 2, 2007 Author Report Posted December 2, 2007 Shel, I've also run into instances of eBay notifying 'select' accounts about special offers they're running. Like you, we have a 'main' account and a secondary account and I think this one came in on the secondary. I'm sure there's a strategy to what eBay is doing, but their logic escapes me. Harold Quote
Reg Evans Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 Thanks for the heads up Harold ! I took advantage of the deal and listed my 52 Suburban and got a bid already. Quote
JerseyHarold Posted December 4, 2007 Author Report Posted December 4, 2007 Reg, I kinda figured that was your Suburban...glad you got a bid. I listed my '51 Business Coupe also. More as a 'politically correct' gesture for my wife since I'll probably never get to fix it up and we can use the cash. Hope I don't get any bids! Harold Quote

Harold Here is a idea for you if your coupe sells and you want to drive your wife crazy. I have a 61 Willys Sedan Dellvery with a Ford 302 listed that is a bigger project then yours . The perfect thing to fill that empty spot in the garage. Ed Quote
JerseyHarold Posted December 5, 2007 Author Report Posted December 5, 2007 Ed, I took a look at your Jeep. Definitely unique. With a gallon of Rustoleum and a trip to Manalapan Brake Parts you could have that thing roadworthy in no time! Quote
JerseyHarold Posted December 9, 2007 Author Report Posted December 9, 2007 With a few hours left on my free Business Coupe listing, four 'watchers', and no bids, I decided to pull the plug and hit the 'end your listing early' button. I got one question from someone with a '-1' feedback asking if I'll take 2/3 of my starting price and no-one inquired about more photos or asked any meaningful questions. The bottom line is that I'm not ready to part with the car yet. Oh, well..... Quote
Reg Evans Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 JH, Oh......My.....God......! Has your wife gotten wind of what you've done ? Quote

I just did not feel like putting up with the dumb questions at this time of the year. Everybody wants something for nothing. I would like to make a bid on the car I will pay $ $650.00 and can be over to pick it up tomorrow. Now all I have to do is make this offer to your wife and I just may get it. Quote
JerseyHarold Posted December 9, 2007 Author Report Posted December 9, 2007 She knows. I told her before I did it. After nearly 20 years of owning this car, I want to give it one more season to possibly get to it. It will be worth the same a year from now if I don't. I also believe that if there were any genuine interest in the car this week I would have had real questions about it or at least some picture-hunters asking for more photos. Quote
Reg Evans Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 Maybe not.........there could have been a sniper or two laying in wait till the last minute. Glad you decided not to sell. They're not making them any more. Quote
