jope Posted October 21, 2024 Report Posted October 21, 2024 Hi all, new to 40's era plymouths here. I'm looking at purchasing a 49 plymouth sedan deluxe. What I can't find out for sure is if this three on the tree has a fluid drive? thank you for your input. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/915229310494199/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A1453d947-76dd-4616-94f3-6cad9737c11e Quote
greg g Posted October 21, 2024 Report Posted October 21, 2024 Plymouth did not have fluid drive. In 53/54 they got Hy Drive which was a three speed driven by a kinda torque converter. Post your engine number. It's stamped on the block on a flat boss above the front most freeze plug. It's a Special deluxe or deluxe. Engine number should start with P19 followed by a mix of didgits, symbols, and or letters. However, engine swaps were pretty common to keep them on the road. Your running gear could have been up or back dated rather then having a rebuild. 2 Quote

QEC Posted October 28, 2024 Report Posted October 28, 2024 Be VERY careful with FB. There are probably more scammers than real advertisers. DO NOT advance any money, you will most likely lose it. Quote
