keithb7 Posted October 29, 2022 Report Posted October 29, 2022 (edited) Remove air filter. With a flashlight Look down carb. Engine off Cycle throttle linkage open a couple times. Do you see a raw stream of gas being injected into the carb? If not pull top off carb bowl. Remove accelerator pump. Re-stretch stretch spring? Is leather cup hard and crusty? Is accelerator pump linkage hooked up to throttle linkage properly? This may help add depth and illustrate the issue: Edited October 29, 2022 by keithb7 1 Quote
Sam Buchanan Posted October 29, 2022 Report Posted October 29, 2022 (edited) Make sure there isn't a vacuum leak to the distributor advance and/or the advance unit hasn't failed. Could also be something going on with the centrifugal advance in the distributor. Edited October 29, 2022 by Sam Buchanan 1 Quote

Sniper Posted October 30, 2022 Report Posted October 30, 2022 Leather cups do not like going dry, ethanol or not. If you can find a modern synthetic rubber/silicone cup that would be the best solution. Quote
