Distributor vacuum line on 48 DeSoto.

I'm missing the vacuum line on my distributor on my 48 DeSoto.  I have two questions.  What size line should I buy 3/16, 5/16, or ?  Is this how it is routed?  see pics which showing the line going around the front of the block behind the water pump and down the left side of the block to the distributor.

I believe it’s 3/16 line. Your routing is correct although mine runs over the head. Not sure what has been done for the last 70 years on mine lol.

Yours is running exactly the same as mine was. Probably 3/16 - looks the same as my brake line.

I just use a rubber line over the top of the head. Size does not really matter much. I put a slip barb on the vacuum advance and at the carb. Just slip the hose one and route as one wants.

on my 39 desoto the line runs over the top of the head and then connects to the carb. Mine also has  specific amount of coiled line to take of for any distributor rotation.

Thanks guys!  yes, I checked my Parts Book and it is just 3/16 line.  Marc.
