Dodge Posted May 15, 2022 Report Posted May 15, 2022 I am currently restoring a 48 dodge sedan and was hoping for a dual cylinder setup to replace the original single cylinder. I was also looking for front disc brakes. Does anyone know of where I can get these parts? Quote
allbizz49 Posted May 15, 2022 Report Posted May 15, 2022 For discs, go to Rusty Hope. Dual master I can't recommend anything, I run the original single reservoir still. Quote
Sniper Posted May 15, 2022 Report Posted May 15, 2022 Nothing that bolts in per se. ECI makes a setup that replaces it altogether, but some have reported issues with it. https://www.ecihotrodbrakes.com/chrysler_master_assemblies.html Issues reported, long thread I know nothing about it, other than the original M/C has a feature cast into it that holds the pin on which the brake and clutch pedals pivot, so you either need to fab something up to handle that, or as some have done and gutted the original master, made a bracket and longer pushrod to mount a newer M/C in there. My thread from earlier this month about the Wilwood dual-chamber cylinder in my '48 Plymouth: https://p15-d24.com/topic/57966-wilwood-dual-chamber-brake-master-cylinder/ I don't know if this is applicable to the Dodge setup. nonstop Posted May 16, 2022 Report Posted May 16, 2022 I have used the eci kit and a Scarebird disc kit on my car. I am extremely happy with it. I was also able to use an adapter and bolt on a dual diaphragm 8 inch brake booster. The set up works really well. Quote

Would appreciate your thoughts about the Scarebird kit, am really considering it for my '48 P15. Quote
Doug&Deb Posted May 16, 2022 Report Posted May 16, 2022 I have a Scarebird kit on my 52 Coronet and I’m very happy with it. Make sure you check what comes with the kit. I’ve heard that he can’t supply the hubs anymore. I got great service from him when I did mine. Quote

I emailed him a few days ago, currently hubs for my car are available but on 2-4 week backorder. Quote
nonstop Posted May 20, 2022 Report Posted May 20, 2022 My kit is an older one which did not use his hubs. I am very happy with it. It was all bolt on. I have since done multiple OT conversions using Scarebird kits. If I choose to convert my truck and New Yorker, I will use the Scarebird kits. Quote
Sam Buchanan Posted May 21, 2022 Report Posted May 21, 2022 My Scarebird order is in, hope to have it in 2-3 weeks. Quote
